inner harbour: Victoria Symphony Splash is Sunday August 4 - 08/03/13 05:20 AM
On Sunday August 4 at 1:00 pm the 24th Annual Symphony Splash is being held in our beautiful Victoria Inner Harbour.
 
As usual the Splash provides wonderful entertainment and attracts up to 40,000 people - all lined along the harbour, sitting on folding chairs and blankets on the grass in front of the Victoria Legislature and in front of the Fairmont Empress hotel.
 

 
Admission is free but everyone who donates $5 or more will receive a Splash button. The Victoria Symphony play from a large barge in the Inner Harbour. Lots of other activities are planned, including … (0 comments)

We in Victoria are very proud of our beautiful Inner Harbour, so when my cousin from Seattle came to visit this weekend we took her down to Fisherman's Wharf on the Inner Harbour. It's a wonderful place to wander around and see the sights and sounds of the little community of float homes, commercial fishing boats, whale watching boats, Barb's Fish and Chips, artists, buskers, seals and lots more.

This weekend the Victoria Symphony Orchestra (now in its 70th year) performs its annual event on a floating stage in Victoria's Inner Harbour.
The 2010/2011 year marks Maestra Tania Miller's eighth season as Music Director of the Victoria Symphony, an appointment that made her the first Canadian woman to be appointed to such a significant position in Canada.

This Labour Day weekend celebrates the 32nd Victoria Classic Boat Festival in our beautiful Inner Harbour. Bordering the harbour are the BC Legislative Buildings, the Royal BC Museum and the ivy-covered Fairmont Empress Hotel.
For over 150 years many sail and power vessels have gathered here and this weekend will see over 100 historic vessels positioned in the heart of Victoria.

During this summer we have enjoyed many events in Victoria. This August long weekend is the much anticipated Symphony Splash, held on Sunday, August 2nd. The weather promises to be beautiful and this free event is not to be missed.
Victoria's Inner Harbour is transformed to a beautiful concert venue. The orchestra and guest performers are set up on a barge directly in front of the Legislative Buildings. Powerful speakers carry the sound to the thousands (40,000 expected this year) who come to the harbour to listen.
