Most of the time the core group are students of the many line dancing classes held regularly in The Villages. Many times when I first speak with a buyer considering The Villages, Florida they share their want list and their not want list. Let’s discuss the not want list, no carpet, no dark kitchen cabinets, no Formica countertops are normally somewhere on the list. These are easy fixes and can happen within a few days of closing while you are not even here yet. April is the beginning of alligator mating season! April is prime courtship time for alligators with mating beginning in May or June. Why is that important for you to know that if you live in Florida? It is estimated there are 1.3 million alligators in Florida and they can get very active and you might find them where you least expect it. This past weekend a 7’ gator was removed from a residential area of The Villages. This time of the year a little extra caution should be taken around bodies of water especially if walking a dog.

Yes, The Villages has a local newspaper and does a nice job covering events and good news stories. The problem is news we are not getting, recently we had a barricade situation with a SWAT team nothing in the paper. If you want news you normally see in the paper like “Police Blotter” that is where Villages-News.com comes in.

On Saturday, March 30th the Brownwood Paddock Square hosts an Arts and Craft show from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. If you never attended you need to take some time and wonder around looking at all the unique ideas and probably buy a few before you are done! We visited the show in the past and were not disappointed plus there will be music and plenty of choices to find something to eat.

So, you have moved to The Villages, Florida, next you bought a golf cart and of course we need to trick it out. Maybe some LED lights, new wheels, decals of your favorite sports team and a license plate from your home state on the back. Some people will get their names painted on the front, husband drivers side, wife passenger side until you both own a cart! Live in The Villages and need a ride? Have a family member here in The Villages and they need a ride? Maybe too much fun at the square and need a ride? We have both Uber and Lyft in The Villages. The great thing about both those services you can request a ride from anywhere to anywhere without being there. I have used them in the past both to get somebody from point A to point B and even once I needed a ride and didn’t have a car or a golf cart, long story!

I attended one of their concerts a few years ago at The Savanah Center in The Villages and they are returning April 19th to the Savanah Center. One of the guest who is staying at one of our investors homes here in The Villages, Florida called concerned about these little creatures that kinda look like very small alligators, they are all over the place, welcome to Florida! This was their first experience with Geckos and we informed them they are harmless and good to have around as they eat mosquitos, spiders and ants and here in Florida anything that eats bugs is a good thing! Wish I could raise them and multiply!

I am not done yet highlighting Saint Patrick’s Day events, if your club or FB group is doing something please let me know the details and I will share. Sawgrass is giving you an early start on Saint Patrick’s Day, how about noon? On the stage starting at noon is the Sounds of Scotland.
