Isn't it amazing how one thing can have so many names ? Why is that ? It's all about marketing. Every vendor wants to get your attention no matter what you call the thing you are looking for so they create as many possible names for it as they can. The title of this blog is an exaggerated example. I am in a business where I have to market myself but I'm not that much into the hype and splendor of it all. I try to market myself as a hard working, dedicated professional that has my client's (1 comments)
home loans: Important Mortgage Warning For Self Employed Individuals
- 01/06/16 02:55 AM
As a Mortgage Loan Originator, I deal with folks of all different income brackets and lifestyles. Yes, some of us remember the old TV show, "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" where people made big incomes and lived in big houses and drove fancy cars. But getting a mortgage is a whole different ball game. Appearances alone aren't enough. For people with higher incomes, they commonly use their income in ways that can be deducted or "written off" on their annual Income Tax forms. As a result, their tax burden is lower and they get to keep more (6 comments)

A few weeks ago, one of our Regional Managers sent a friend of his to the bank to check out our customer service. He had been given my name to talk to about a mortgage. The gentleman walked into one of our branch offices and announced to a teller that he was there to see Deanna Early. Of course, the Regional Manager hadn't told anyone, especially me, that this gentleman would be coming in or when. When he said he was there to see me, the teller assumed I had set an appointment and called my office phone to (10 comments)

- 12/18/15 10:16 AM
I, myself, am a military brat. That's right, I said it and I am proud of it. Both my mother and father were members of the United States Air Force. In return for their service, they have received many benefits. Among those benefits, veterans have special home mortgage loan programs through the VA. If you are a veteran of the United States military, first of all, let me say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. Without our veterans and current service members protecting this country, we would not have the rights and privileges we all enjoy every day. (4 comments)

home loans: Yes folks, the force awakens
- 12/17/15 05:33 AM
The Federal Reserve Bank raised the interest rates this week. Not that the Federal Reserve actually controls interest rates on mortgages and refinances directly but their actions bring about an expected response from lenders. After nine years of zero percent rates, yes folks, the force awakens. Now I don't intend to infringe upon or take any of the glory away from a certain movie that is opening today. I also don't expect people to be camped out in my parking lot waiting to get in the door ahead of everyone else. At the same time, we must acknowledge that this (2 comments)

As a service to ALL of my ActiveRain friends and colleagues, I am putting out a blog informing everyone of this new government rule. However, it doesn't just pertain to ActiveRain users but to everyone. As Christmas approaches, this new rule may apply to many people that weren't affected previously. The rule comes down from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and involves drones. I'm not referring to the weapons of war but rather the hobbyist's toy or the Realtor's tool. The new rule applies to all drones weighing under 55 pounds which would include most of these. Do you (11 comments)

It's been over two months and I'm still hearing agents complaining about the problems caused by TRID. I find it interesting that even with the time available to prepare for it and learn about it, many still haven't. Now that it has been in the marketplace for a while, it is no longer a secret. The bad part is these same agents are still taking their clients through the same lenders. What is it Einstein said, something about "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result". I think he referred to it as "crazy". (5 comments)
home loans: Vinegar and sugar, which one are you and which one are they ?
- 12/13/15 01:35 AM
In the course of business, we run into all types of problems and personalities. Occasionally, something will go wrong during the process involved in buying a house but it is how you handle the problems that makes the difference. Some folks are sweet as sugar, some are not. First of all, I try to look at problems in a positive way and concentrate on the solution rather than harping on the situation. I first identify what is perceived to be a malfunction in getting the deal done. Next, I look at what it will take to get the deal (5 comments)
