Hello everybody and Happy Columbus Day ! I am especially enjoying it because I actually get a day off this year. Yes, I feel sorry for those of you that actually have to work today. Until recently moving back into the bank to originate mortgages, I had to work on this day too in past years. But, this year is different so we had to decide what to do. It's that time of year again. The annual Charity Home Tour is this weekend at Smith Mountain Lake, Va. All homes on the tour are accessible both by boat and by car. There are so many beautiful homes on the tour this year. We do this every year to support our area charities and to show off our amazing homes. My husband has been in public safety for decades and asked me to share this with you. This week is "National Fire Prevention Week". As we go into the fall season and people begin firing up their furnaces, wood stoves and fireplaces; there is an increased danger of residential fires.
