It has been a wonderful fall here in the Vail Valley! The changing aspen trees were magnificent, Halloween was a week of fun and trick-or-treating, and today we had our first dusting of snow throughout the Valley floor. The mountains have seen their share of white, but when those first snowflakes fall on our front lawns, it gets us all so excited for the season ahead... winter! We are entering the much anticipated 2014-2015 winter season, where the FIS World Alpine Ski Championships will take place in Vail and Beaver Creek. Vail Real Estate Market Update March 2014 As the 2013-2014 winter season winds down on the mountain, the real estate market continues to strengthen. FIRST QUARTER 2014 - Sales over $3 million: In the first quarter of 2014 there have been 17 sales over $3 million, and there are currently 24 properties under contract. In the first quarter of 2013 there were 7 sales over $3 million. FEBRUARY: Land Title Guarantee Company's monthly statistics for February just came in today in their "Eagle County Market Analysis". With 130" of snow in Vail and 111" in Beaver Creek during the months of January and February, the Vail Valley has been hopping with excitement. On January 31st there was a record snow fall of 21" in Vail and 23" in Beaver Creek in one day! Another February highlight was the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships which took place last week in Vail Village. We couldn't be happier to have this event here in Vail. I had a blast there this last weekend with my baby boy.

With Vail Mountain's opening day less than one week away, we are all pretty excited about the ribbon cutting ceremony of Vail’s new gondola “One.” All summer long, we’ve watched as they took out the old Vista Bahn chair lift in the heart of Vail Village. And what excitement to watch helicopters fly through our valley taking out the towers and replacing with the new gondola. This Sunday I will be volunteering at one of the most beatiful hiking and dining fundraisers the Vail Valley has to offer. “Hike, Wine & Dine” will take place this Sunday, September 23 at Beaver Creek Mountain. This easy 4-mile hike through the golden colored Aspen groves of Beaver Creek is a great way to spend your Sunday morning. You’ll be treated to food and drink along the way from some of Beaver Creek’s restaurants, and finish with dessert and wine and fellowship at the end.
