Growing up, I would go to the cemetery with my Mom to decorate our loved one’s stones. I have to say, I just love the office I’m in at Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. We are located right in the heart of Vail Village at the new Solaris. This residential and commercial building, which was completed last summer, has quickly become the buzz of Vail Village. With galleries, shops, a local coffee house, movie theatre and bowling alley, Solaris is a fun place to be. I volunteer with the Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps, and also serve as their PR liaison to our local media. Recently I featured a story here on my blog regarding a recent fundraiser we held, and had submitted the story to our local newspaper, The Vail Daily as well. And we’re back! While the number of residential sales dropped a bit last week, we are back up to 30 new sales this last week in the Vail Valley. With Labor Day festivities all throughout our valley, there were many visitors and it looks like some of them used this holiday weekend to purchase a Vail Valley home! This is “Miss Maude”. My husband and I rescued her 10 years ago from a crowded, hot shelter in Savannah, GA. She’s been an incredible companion, and I just wanted to share this photo I took of her while we were hiking together over the weekend. It was another beautiful weekend in the mountains of Vail, Colorado! I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the sunshine a bit. It was my husband’s birthday on Saturday so we headed out to Piney Lake, north of Vail for a lovely afternoon hike.

Nearly one year ago, I made the move to Slifer Smith & Frampton’s newest office in the all-new Solaris building in Vail Village. I never would have thought this area could grow so much in just one year. Today’s headline in the local Vail Daily reads:
