winter: Falling into winter in the Vail Valley

It has been a wonderful fall here in the Vail Valley! The changing aspen trees were magnificent, Halloween was a week of fun and trick-or-treating, and today we had our first dusting of snow throughout the Valley floor. The mountains have seen their share of white, but when those first snowflakes fall on our front lawns, it gets us all so excited for the season ahead... winter! We are entering the much anticipated 2014-2015 winter season, where the FIS World Alpine Ski Championships will take place in Vail and Beaver Creek. winter: First Big Snow Hits Vail, CO

Woo Hoo! The first big snow of the season has fallen upon us here in the Vail Valley. I woke up this morning around 5:00 to that eerie grey glow outside my bedroom window. I sort of felt like a kid on Christmas morning, hopping out of bed to peek out from behind the blinds to see the sky filled with snow flakes and the ground covered in a beautiful blanket of white. I can’t believe I’m about to say this but…. Are you ready for WINTER!!?? Now that the autum colors are at their finest, we know what happens next here in the Vail Valley. No stopping it. The leaves fall and it starts to snow!
