Another annoying and often undetected Twitter scam is making it’s way into your follow “inbox.” I am calling this new Twitter tactic the “Eddie Haskell” tactic designed to persuade you to follow a person. Here is how it works:

New Follower: a new Twitter follow shows up in your list of “Followers” Open Tweet: your new Twitter follower tweets you the following message: “@___ Thanks!” DM Message: the final step is to send a direct message repeating the open tweet “@____ Thanks!” What’s The Strategy?

Anybody, not my mother or grandmother, who begins a note to me addressing me as "Dearest" and starting the note with "With Due Respect and Humanity" is so full of &*%$ it's incomprehensible.

I can't  believe it as it finally happened here on Active Rain. I finally won the Irish lottery, have a new multi million dollar deal to be a go between, or new friend from a far away land. Yes the phishing scams have hit here on Active Rain. If you see this or anything else that is remotely like this letter, do not answer it. The truly trusting and positive thinkers out there beware. These are nothing but scams aimed at attaining your bank account information, a front end set up fee, and an ongoing drain on your cash assets.
