Memorial Day Weekend is here and the neighborhood pools in Silver Spring are opening for the summer season. With school out and the mercury rising, a neighborhood swimming pool is the perfect place to while away those hot, humid summer days we have here in Silver Spring, Maryland. Community spirit, the roar of the crowd and the excitement of youthful competition all combine at a neighborhood swim meet. silver spring recreation: Silver Spring MD Sligo Creek Park - Changes Proposed to Sligo Golf Course and Other Park Facilities

The Montgomery County Revenue Authority has proposed changes to the Sligo Creek Golf Course. They want to add a lighted tiered driving range and a minature golf course ( but not a "tacky" or "carnival" type course) The neighboring community is NOT Happy about the changes and has rejected the planned changes.
