The most romantic place for Dinner in Silver Spring is a small, suptuous italian restaurant called Sergios. It is intimate, quiet and dark, like a cozy cave, the wait staff are attentive, the drinks are good, the food is Real Native Italian, Generous and Excellent! (especially the veal dishes). The atmosphere is understated thick white tablecloth elegant and romantic. Nothing beats having that warm, friendly, personal greeting from Sergio Toni, the owner, a native of Rome and now a Silver Springer. It's nippy, damp and clammy out. It's the season for Chicken Soup. The best place to go for this necessity is the Parkway Deli (also known as the Grubb Road Deli) in the Rock Creek Shopping Center in Silver Spring. I buy it by the quart. Yummmy . . . . It never disappoints at this time of the year and through the rest of winter. I consider this the best chicken soup in Silver Spring. It is really the "Matzoh Ball Soup" served from a big square vat at the carry out part of the restaurant. I always order mine "without balls" (matzoh that is) or with "just one ball" … (5 comments)

Double R Bar Burgers, Real Roast Beef Sandwiches and Strawberry Shortcakes are back in the Silver Spring Area. While technically, it is not in Silver Spring, it's close enough for me ! ! ! The Roy Rogers is in the new Burtonsville Shopping Center. It's cold and damp out. Today was the day to get my first guart of Chicken Soup for the season from the Parkway Deli (also known as the Grubb Road Deli) in Silver Spring. Yummm . . . . I recently Sold a house in the Springbrook Forest Neighborhood of Silver Spring. During the course of the transaction, I made several trips to the house during the course of the sale, for home, well, septic and water inspections. The home is very close to the Kemp Mill Shopping Center where I found a new (to me) gem of a place for breakfast and or lunch, it is the Kosher Pastry Oven and Cafe.
