Can you lightly sand hardwood floors? Many of my Westchester customers ask me if they can do a "light" sanding of their hardwood flooring. There are many contexts behind this question, and different reasons for asking, and this context is critical to understand before giving a direct answer.

Domestic hardwood flooring species from the United States Lately, I've had more and more customers in Westchester County asking me about domestic hardwood flooring. So, I figured I would blog about it. Which woods are from America? They want to buy hardwood that is locally grown and manufactured in the US. I believe this is both due to an assurance of high quality hardwoods (vs. imports) as well as to support the local economy.
Below is a summary of the most popular hardwood flooring species that are grown and made in the United States.
1. Use the same type of flooring material and the same color across rooms. Whenever possible, continue that same surface across rooms.
