The soil in outdoor clay pots dries out very quickly. Poke holes in the pot with a sharp round tool to make sure water saturates the soil when you tend your plants. Prune tropical hibiscus plants that you plant to bring indoors. Reduce them to a size that will fit neatly in front of your sunniest window in the winter. Remove any faded/dried crape myrtle blooms and seed clusters now. By adding a bit of water and fertilizer now, you may get more blooms in September. To prevent ants from entering your home, spread insecticide granules in a 24" wide rim around the foundation (0 comments)
