Nature as Neighbors Is Great, But Trees Don't Always Cooperate We love our home in the country, especially the towering evergreens around us that provide lush greenery and privacy. One in particular, a 40-foot Douglas fir, stands out in the front yard and can be seen from the deck and every front window in the house. It was our prime candidate for decorating this season. Home Sellers - Deck the Halls, or Festivus for the holidays. If you’re selling your home during the holiday season, there’s normally the question of decorations. Is is wise to deck the halls, or is it better to keep the holiday specific decorations in storage? There is a general consensus that it's best to keep the decor more neutral, as in a winter theme, not Christmas or Hanukkah specific, or even Festivus.
