First Fridays in Camas is a wonderful family fun event designed to drive traffic to downtown shops and businesses. We're big fans, and especially appreciate the monthly themes. One of our favorite Downtown Camas events involves an evening filled with chocolate (and who doesn't love chocolate?) This First Friday, Feb 5th from 5 to 8 pm "A Chocolate Affair to Remember" features shops throughout downtown serving or selling chocolate. As a bonus, to celebrate the final season of Downton Abbey, participants are encouraged to dress in vintage costumes, which will qualify them for a gift basket drawing - containing vintage treasures donated by Camas Antiques.
It's a perfect pre-Valentine theme to start thinking about and shopping for unique gifts for that special someone. Among the evening's activities, participants will be able to:

As I left my appointment last night at Nico Bella, Camas was looking very festive with white lights twinkling from branches of the many trees that line the streets. I had a chance to stop into Camas Antiques which is filled with interesting decor and gifts, plus Lizzabeth A had their display windows filled with gorgeous Holiday decor. I also learned there is something special being added to the celebrations in December.

Downton comes to Downtown Camas this week.
Downton Abbey fans will want to attend the Camas First Friday event on January 2, 2015. Camas Antiques has collaborated with the Downtown Merchants Association to bring a bit of the popular TV show to this First Friday.
The timing coincides with the much anticipated premier of Season 5 on Sunday, January 4th. Explore Downton inspired window displays. You can test your knowledge of the series with trivia questions and enter to win a gift basket filled with Downton-like goodies.

Olincalli Mexican Folk Music and Dance group will set the stage for the celebration with songs and dance demonstrations. The Pumpkin Pageant is Friday, October 4th, 2013 in downtown Camas. The First Friday event begins and 5 PM, and along with featured sales, and fall items, each shop will have an artfully carved pumpkin on display.

Plein Air is the French tradition of painting out in the open air for all to see. This Friday, from 9am to 4pm, artists will line the streets of 4th Avenue in charming Downtown Camas to paint the landscape.
