When we visited our dear friends Ron and Alexandra Seigel for a wonderful sun-filled New Year's celebration, we packed a lot of living into a few days. They were not only perfect hosts, but gracious tour guides. It was so fun to visit many of the places they've shared with us in Active Rain. One day, after a delicious lunch in Los Olivos, we walked to J. Woeste Home and Garden Treasures. According to their website, J. Woeste's mission statement is simple: to make people smile. It's a lot more fun to have someone to lean on during this journey called life. Personally, I'd be lost without my best friend, my husband. Laughing together at the missteps and mishaps, toasting the celebrations, and holding one another during the losses, sweetens the days. This photo of my grandsons reminds me of the power of two. It doesn't have to be a husband, or a wife, or even a family member. Knowing you have someone in your corner to share life's adventures is a comfort, and a joy. friendship: Active Rain - What a Difference a Year Makes!

I wrote my first blog post in Active Rain on April 16, 2011. It was about my new listing - a short sale. Five years after I sold a young couple a home, they were struggling to make things work. It wasn't a happy day, in fact, it was a sad and rather emotional day. Fast forward a year, and they are finally signing documents to close this afternoon, April 17th, a full year later. Just Yesterday Good friends are like a good great pair of shoes. They feel right. They're a good fit, comfortable and familiar. Joanne McCall is one of my former radio pals - but left the business years before me. She is now a successful book publicist and also teaches people how to prepare for media appearances.We live about an hour away from one another and our busy lives and crazy schedules have kept us from connecting for far too long.
