happiness: International Happiness Day - Did you miss it? - 03/21/20 10:12 AM
Did you miss the good news?

Yesterday was International Happiness Day. We didn't realize it until today. However, we did choose to be happy yesterday, and we will again today. It's important for us to remember no matter what is going on in life, we can still choose to be happy.  Yes, it's a choice. Even now, during these difficult times.

Yesterday marked a week since our sweet Mac's (aka McKinley) passing, and Bernie picked up his ashes. The bag included a tuft of his soft creamy fur and the paw print memento shown in the photo. We could have easily felt overwhelmed with sadness the rest of the afternoon. Instead, after a few … (42 comments)

happiness: Flower Power 2020 - 02/19/20 07:57 AM
We arrived home on Monday and immediately had an appointment with new clients. They have a lot of their plates with two 100 year old mothers - his and hers. We will be selling one of the mother's former homes - she is now in a memory facility in Seattle. The last thing this baby boomer couple needs is more stress in their lives.  Therefore, we will handle all prep and detail work for them in the coming weeks as we get this property ready to list on April 1, 2020.

We stopped by the local New Seasons store on our way home. Our hearts were … (34 comments)

happiness: If You want to be happy... - 03/24/18 01:57 PM

“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” ― Aristotle

Lately, we've been reading a number of posts in Active Rain about happiness. It seems apropos. We all want it, we all want to maximize it, and hopefully, we all want to help others achieve it. However, there are moments in life when a seemingly difficult time, or challenge, can test us a bit.
After all, it's quite easy to be joyful and productive when everything around us is coming up roses. It's during the difficult moments when rely on something more. Our faith, our self-certainty, our emotional … (17 comments)

happiness: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - Almost Wordless Wednesday - 05/03/17 07:41 AM

This little girl has star power. She lights up rooms and sparkles and shines wherever she goes. This is Raegan, our youngest granddaughter, playing hide and seek with her mama. However, Kelsea tells us it's quite easy to find her - just follow the giggles.
Children have an uncanny ability to find fun in the most simple things. They see magic in moments and celebrate life with joy and spontaneity. Spirits soar when you believe life is full of wonder. We'll be mindful today, to see the world through a child's eyes.

happiness: Sunday! Gratitude. - 11/24/13 11:36 AM
Sunday! Gratitude.
What a fast and furious few weeks, the biggest December in years (for closings) is days away. I am so grateful.
The Alaska  grand children are here this weekend, and their parents are having a date night. I am so grateful.
Bubble baths are done, their hair is still damp, and they are watching a children’s Christmas show.I am so grateful.
This has been a good day to reflect on life’s amazing gifts. I so hope you’ve had a wonderful day - and that it too was filled with gratitude.

happiness: Sheer Joy - 05/23/13 05:45 AM
The weather in the Pacific Northwest is particularly gloomy lately. After several weeks of warm temperatures and sunshine, the recent rain, and record cold temperatures feel especially unwelcome.
Add to that, a month or two of sinus infections, and it's easy to feel a bit under the weather -literally. It feels as if there's a low pressure systems that's settled in right between my ears. :)
Fortunately, I stumbled across this video on Facebook today. If you haven't seen it, enjoy. It's hard to feel blue when you see this wonderful little creature expressing so much joy. Plus, who doesn't love … (40 comments)
