nature as neighbors: Can Nature Have a Monetary Value? - 03/09/19 09:56 AM

We adopted our brand name and logo, "Nature as Neighbors", because we value the opportunity to live in peaceful, natural surroundings and want to help our clients achieve those goals. We call it "elbow room for the soul."  While not everyone has the luxury of living completely surrounded by wilderness (or may not want to), even a small piece of solitude can offer enormous health benefits. We regularly write about the benefits of being around nature - citing studies that identify the positive effects on humans. But beyond aesthetics and psychological value, can we put a monetary value on nature?

Measures that are designed to protect our environment - e.g., restrictive land use rules, carbon tax on … (12 comments)
