We are experiencing an influx of new buyers from outside of the area – many are looking for affordable homes where they can live in the country, but still be close to city amenities. They want larger lots or some acreage, but also easy access to shopping, services, and good schools. Brush Prairie/Hockinson is a great area where we regularly find homes that meet this criteria.
Hockinson has all the amenities of a rural area – rolling hillsides, tracts of timber land, and large horse pastures. Yet, it is within easy driving distance of metropolitan amenities, including Portland International Airport right across the Columbia River. Combine privacy … (10 comments)

Last year the Pew Research Center reported that a record 60.6 million Americans now live in multi-gen households.
It's no coincidence that our specialty - view homes with "elbow room … (6 comments)

nature as neighbors: News of Clark County - Felida Market Report - 03/20/17 08:10 AM

We enjoy visiting the Clark County community known as Felida. Its name has an interesting story too. When the Post Office was established in 1890, the name Powley was submitted to honor an area resident. The name was denied, but the Post Office suggested instead, "Polly." The postmaster thought the name sounded like a parrot and remarked, "they might as well name the post office after my cat." Therefore, he submitted "Thomas," the cat's name, as well as, "Tomcat, and "Felidae," Latin for big cats. Felida was approved!
Felida, long known for its pastoral settings, is changing because many of the area's farms were purchased by developers … (8 comments)
