YouTube Thursdays - Thankful

We wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your support and encouragement throughout the year. Your comments and friendship in Active Rain are greatly appreciated.

Today, we'll be spending Thanksgiving with our son, his wife, and three of our grandchildren. Our hope is that you too will spend the day in good company,  with plenty of love and laughter.

There is always so much to be grateful for everyday. For us, it boils down to the little things. The things we might take for granted. We try to keep this line from a favorite movie in mind:

"The truth is, now … (15 comments)

thankful: Day 7 of the 12 Days of Thanks Giving - Our Good Friends - 11/18/17 07:10 AM
Debbie Reynold's November challenge keeps us in gratitude mode for the final days prior to Thanksgiving. What a perfect way to fill the Rain with positivity. Thanks Debbie!

Day 7 of Thanks Giving

We get by with a little help from our friends...

We are very fortunate to have a group of people who we can count on for support - and fun. For example, last night, we met with a couple who we haven't seen for nearly six months.  Our puppies brought us together at a local dog park. Since we both have Golden Retrievers, it was a natural start to a conversation, and soon we … (15 comments)

thankful: Day 6 of the 12 Days of Thanks Giving - It's Complicated! - 11/17/17 12:18 PM

Day 6 of Thanks Giving

My love for coffee.

Okay, I'm sure you're saying...
    "Coffee, what the he..?"
"Of all the things in life to be thankful for, you're wasting a day on coffee?"
"You must be one of those Starbucks freaks from the Pacific Northwest!"

My relationship with coffee is hard to explain, it's complicated.

Bernie will tell you my coffee is too weak, not flavorful enough.

To which I say,

thankful: Thankful for life's simple pleasures - 11/22/11 12:04 PM
It's time be thankful for life's simple pleasures.

Perhaps it's the smile on your child's face when he gets a special treat.
Or maybe the way your husband gives you that special look, even after manyyears together.
It might be the taste of that first sip of coffee in the morning.
Today I am thankful for so many, many reasons. There's not one that's elaborate or difficult to attain. I have enjoyed our first major wind storm of the season - listening to the rain tap against my office windows as newly fallen leaves sail through the … (14 comments)

thankful: I'm thankful for Jimmy Buffet (not, Buffett) - 11/09/11 09:26 AM
ActiveRain/DocSign Contest - I’m Thankful for Jimmy Buffet (not Buffett, although, I like him too.) Thanksgiving is just around the corner, my father Jim, aka Jimmy Buffet ( because of his eating habits, not his musical ability - that’s Buffett ), will reside over the festivities with his usual sense of humor and eagerness - to eat!
Therefore, I’m remembering how grateful I am to have dad around. Over ten years ago his heart stopped during a so-called routine hospital procedure. My mother knew when she heard “Code Blue” over the hospital speakers, that it was dad.
