Here at the Bastrop office of Stanberry & Associates we all pitch in to a "kitty" each month so that we can make modest donations to worthy local causes and charities. It is just one small way that as local Realtors we can let Bastrop County know that we care and give back. This month we donated 150.00 to the Bastrop Library. Although the donation wasn't a big one we were told that the monies would be spend replacing all of the lost books - books that had been checked out - in last year's devestating Bastrop Complex Fire. The other day I was doing a final walk through on a home I was helping my Client purchase in Cedar Hills just outside of Elgin in Bastrop County. After the walk through was done and my Clients and I went our seperate ways I took a couple of minutes to drive through the subdivision for a look see. It was a lovely fall day with cooler weathter that is much appreciated in these parts as we had such a long hot, dry summer! My husband and I have recently discovered kayaking and are thrilled that there are so many wonderful places to kayak in Bastrop County where we live. Since we are still "beginners" we haven't kayaked the Colorado River yet but will some day soon. In the meantime we have taken our kayaks to the South Shore of Lake Bastrop which is located just off Hwy 71 between Bastrop and Paige. Every day I drive by some of the most beautiful old oak trees that have been growing along side Alum Creek TX for more years than I have been on this planet! These trees are so stately looking from the road I have to suppress the urge to stop the car, hop the fence, and to get a closer look. I just completed the three day EcoBroker class hosted by Austin Title/Land America. The course was developed by Colorado based EcoBroker International and has been presented to Realtors and Real Estate Agents all over the world. We were told this afternoon that there are approx. 4400 members of which approx. 4000 are in the US, approx 90 of us now in the Austin area.
