Unpacking the Numbers: September's Real Estate Highlights and Lowlights in Charlotte 
In September, Charlotte Region home sales dipped by 24.9% year-over-year to 3,316, marking a 14.4% decline month-over-month. Despite this, several areas in the Charlotte Metro saw an uptick in sales. Pending contracts also fell by 4.1% year-over-year but showed the smallest decline in over a year. Buyer interest was notably high in Charlotte proper and the suburbs of Waxhaw, Matthews and Rock Hill.
 
New listings decreased by 8.6% year-over-year, with some counties and communities bucking the trend. Total inventory plummeted by 22.8% year-over-year but increased month-over-month by 3.9% for single-family homes and … (1 comments)

With the positive job growth over the last year and a healthy local economy that continues to boost consumer spending and housing demand, sales are expected to remain steady throughout 2017. 
Our issue remains, a low supply of inventory is leaving a considerable number of buyers wringing their hands in frustration due to the limited choices of available homes.  Inventory declined 25.7 percent compared to January 2015, leaving Charlotte with a 2.2 month supply of homes for sale.
 

Pending sales for the last 3-month period have risen 14% (same time period last year).
