Speechless Sundays - The Cutest of SiblingsThese two are actual littermates and are approaching their 4th birthday (10/19/1019)--I can't believe it! Jack & Gracie came to us RIGHT before the shut-down in 2020. We wanted ONE kitten and the day that the foster mom was visiting our home to bring Jack to us to visit, Gracie was cleared to be adopted.
Gracie had a stroke when she had was spayed and was not healthy enough to leave the care of her foster mom. With the visit from the two of them, Ray and I realized we could not separate the two siblings … (8 comments)

Another Speechless Sundays Post - More Fur Baby Love 🐾We had a Festive Fourth party yesterday as we had other plans on Tuesday and really wanted to have a leisurely day without guests having to think about working the next day (the 5th is Wednesday this year). Some of our friends have a senior pup who can't be left alone for very long so, we told them just to bring the dog (Ollie).

Speechless Sundays - My Office Buddy 🐾
Jack is outnumbered by all of the fur babies - the only male in the group! He is definitely a mama's boy and every day I'm in my office, he's right there with me.
When we adopted Maddie, Jack was her best buddy - she chased him everywhere! He played with her but, after a bit would tire of the 'puppy' constantly being in the ON mode. So, Jack would climb up on the credenza behind my desk to get away from her.

Speechless Sundays - Sibling BFFsWe adopted these two together because the foster mom who brought Jack for a home visit, also had his sister with her and we fell in love with both! Thinking that we may want a little girl kitty, she thankfully brought Gracie with her.
This was January of 2020 when we met these precious kittens - they were positively adorable...and inseparable. The cutest duo in our house may just be these BFF siblings. Oh, the joy they bring us!

Wordless Wednesday - Siblings from Another Mother (& Breed)!Since day-1 of Madelaine joining our family, Jack has taken the lead role as big brother. Our senior dog, Barney, puts up with Maddie and definitely loves her but, Maddie needs puppy-play and Jack the cat gives that to her. It wasn't that long ago he was the new kitten in the house so, he's got a lot of energy.

Speechless Sundays - Sweet SiblingsIt's been a SUPER busy week - it always is after coming home from vacation or a conference (as was the case on Monday). Babies and fur babies always melt my heart but, these two are so very special! They adore one another and they love napping together after breakfast. It's so sweet!

Speechless Sundays - Still, the Best GiftA couple of weeks ago, I got my trees up and foyer decorated but, still had to put gift boxes under the tree. I decided that if I didn't put the 'faux' boxes under the tree, that would prompt me to be quicker about wrapping this year. Gracie has been seen under the tree on the comfy, padded tree skirt...well, until this weekend!
I got lots of gifts wrapped and Gracie found her way back to the tree - but, on top of one of the gifts. And, Gracie remains, the best gift under the tree!

Wordless Wednesday - As the Crow Flies
Our fur babies bring us so much pleasure in this life. Sweet Jack doesn't have a position that isn't simply 'the cutest!' Today, he snuggled up on one of the chairs by the window to watch the crows congregate at the shoreline, a very unusual occurrence here. He sat, watching them for hours. Of course, we pondered what he was thinking - perhaps, "How does that crow fly?!"

Speechless Sunday - Even the Fur Babies Enjoy the Sunsets
To be fair, she was probably watching the geese, swimming in front of her! This was the very end of our sunset and it was the perfect ending.
Truth be told, she could care less about the geese or the sunset - she just can't have her humans out on the porch without her!
The color is not good because we had the screened porch lights off with the fire burning but, aren't pictures for the memories anyway?!

Saturday Smiles - Loving the Outdoors
Our little Gracie has taken a cue from us that there's something special about The Great Outdoors! We don't let our cats outdoors (technically) but, the screened porch is such a treat for them.
We have moved our firepit to the porch to watch the sunsets and when Jack & Gracie hear the door opening to the porch, they come running from wherever they are in the house! This one would live out there if we let her!

These two siblings are never very far from one another. It's the sweetest thing you've ever seen - they sleep together and when one is moving, the other watches to be sure they're not too far away. Gracie is the most independent; sweet, sweet Jack just loves being around her.

Crazy Gracie Rose LOVES watching the birds but, the squirrels are even more fascinating to her. If only the glass wasn't standing between them!
*You can barely see the squirrel's tail - just below her left, front paw - her leap onto the glass frightened him just a little!

Jack has to be the sweetest kitten I've ever seen. He is so devoted to Gracie and is always there to clean her when she's tired and then snuggles up to her for hours. Sweetness abounds!

This precious baby goes 100 mph when she's awake and when she's ready to crash, it's wherever she is! So, not only is Gracie crazy and ADD but, we think she's got a bit of narcolepsy too! Of course, we think she's perfect, just the way she is.

Speechless Sundays - Sweet, Sweet Jack
This little sugar pie has to be the sweetest little kitty ever! If you just look at Jack, his little purr motor engages and he melts in your arms. He loves to eat, loves the dogs and thoroughly enjoys terrorizing Emma! He doesn't have to do a thing to 'terrorize' her other than to walk in the same room she's in.
Emma is another new rescue who is about 7-years old and really has no use for Jack at all but, she does tolerate the kittens. In fact, she tolerates Crazy Gracie (another girl) far better than her brother, sweet, … (12 comments)

We are convinced that the stroke this little one suffered during her surgery when she was being spayed, left her with heightened awareness and infinite curiosity! Our sweet little Gracie provides a never-ending supply of cuteness - she's a-smile-a-minute...and yes, Crazy Gracie may be sticking!

Another Speechless Sunday - "This One Is The Cutest!"
That, of course, is what Jack is saying about the picture on my screen of he and his sister, Gracie! We love that he enjoys the computer screen as our Charlotte did. Many of you remember our sweet Charlotte lived to talk to her Daddy when he was in Denver, by video conferencing.
We think of all of the kitties, Jack is the one that most resembles Charlotte's personality - he's so sweet and very attentive!

Speechless Sunday - This Little One Just Wants a Better View
Do you ever have pets that, over the years, get nicknames to describe their behavior? Our Duke is called 'Happy' about half of the time - his tail wags when you look at him, talk to him, pet him...it's always wagging!
Gracie has become 'Crazy Gracie!' Before you go all PC on me, you really haven't seen the antics this kitten does - she climbed our stone fireplace, nearly the ENTIRE 20-feet!
As crazy as she is, we love her to pieces...she definitely always makes us smile (or shake our heads in wonderment)!
