A Sunset to Remember: A Chalk Masterpiece over Lake Wylie 
This evening, Mother Nature put on a breathtaking show as the sun dipped below the horizon over Lake Wylie. The sky transformed into a magnificent canvas, where deep blue hues created a stunning backdrop, accentuating the vibrant strokes of deep pink and bold yellow. It was as if an artist had chalked the sunset in order to create this extraordinary spectacle.

The colors reflected off the tranquil waters of the lake, creating a truly spectacular show for us. We were left in awe of the wonders that unfold on the 'canvas-in-the-sky' above Charlotte. … (12 comments)

Speechless Sundays - Post-Ian Art in the SkyDuring Ian's run through The Queen City, we had lots of trees and limbs down - all over the city.  Most of our historic areas suffered some century-old tree loss but, we are so thankful to have lost no lives during this hurricane as we did during Hugo in 1989.

During and after Ian, we had massive power outages across the Metro but, today we are down to being under only 500 outages in the area. We lost power briefly but, we were well-prepared with 2 generators filled with gas, extra tanks of gas … (14 comments)

Speechless Sundays - The Bright Spot Amidst the Dark CloudsWe have had more rain than we know what to do with here in Charlotte lately! Our garden has gone gangbusters; our grass needs trimming nearly every other day...
But, the bright spot amidst those dark clouds are the gorgeous sunsets. Here is one we had this week. They are absolutely breathtaking!

This one was following two days of rain and ominous skies. We didn't anticipate seeing much of a show at all but, even an ominous sky during a sunset is breathtaking!

Speechless Sundays - Christmas Palette Perfection
Wrapping up the delightful Christmas day we had, we were able to catch an amazing sunset. What a delightful way to end end the day, huh? The palette, filled with blues, grays, pinks and yellows, was turned into a changing sky, painted to perfection. The color combination was incredibly striking, making our hearts fill with awe. This glorious, artful sunset was bestowed upon us on the birthday of our Savior - absolutely impeccable timing. 
 
If only the photo did the actual sunset justice!

I love rainbows, sunrises & sunsets! I think the lighting of the sky and everything around is just so fascinating to me. This evening's sunset did not disappoint - the colors were magical and of course, illuminated more than just the sky. I love how the colors reflected off of the light brown building, turning it almost red (in conjunction with the artificial light in the outdoor fixture).

Ahhh....who doesn't enjoy a breathtaking sunset?  I'm often out and about during that time of the evening and here in Charlotte, we've had some spectacular ones lately that I've caught in my car, going from appointment to appointment or home in the evenings.  Driving from SouthPark (in Charlotte) to Fort Mill (South Carolina), I captured two of them (it's about a 15 minute drive from one to the other).  


I've included a 'bonus' sunset on this gorgeous Sunday!  I'm drawn to the pinks in the city (SouthPark) and the firey oranges at the lake in Fort Mill.
