Valentine's Day this year will be celebrated but, with a bit of a heavy heart. My parents, who were high school sweethearts and married for 66 years last month said their final, "I love you" while together here on this earth. It was one of the most heart-wrenching moments of my entire life. My parents were not only high school sweethearts; they were sweethearts until the moment my mother took her final breath. It's such a rare thing to see two people so in love, and for that many decades.

Ahh, the romance! Love is in the air today, all across the US. Don’t you just love having a day to celebrate those special ones in our lives?
 
Valentine’s Day has is deep-rooted in an ancient  Roman tradition called Lupercalia. Originally celebrated on February 15, Valentine’s Day was a celebration of purification and fertility. Today, sweethearts around the world commemorate Saint Valentine on this day, February 14.

I thought I would surprise the team with a little something for Valentine's Day this morning for our meeting.
 
 
I was, myself, surprised with candy and 3 dozen assorted roses from The Bouqs and dinner plans for my hubby and I at one of my favorite sushi restaurants.

You may or may not be a romantic or may or may not live in a city that is 'known' for its romance but, I thought I would share Instacart's 2018 list of romantic cities...and least romantic cities!
 
Of course, it's always great when we find Charlotte on a list and with all of the talk lately about the upcoming celebration of Valentine's Day, it's perfect timing to make this list!
