Yesterday Sandy Rodgers and I spent the day working a booth at the Proud of Texas Steak and Chili Cook Off in Waco, Texas. This was a fantastic event with people from all over competing in cooking categories of Wings, Beans, Chili and Steak cooking. There was also a car show with D & D Rockin Rods and there were some fabulous vehicles on display. I wanted to leave my booth and go for a ride!!! Last week I had the pleasure of having a couple of hours spare time. This time allowed me to take a walk down near the river and the Waco Suspension Bridge. It was a beautiful day and there were many people out walking, feeding the ducks, enjoying a picnic and some were lined up to eat at one of the many food trucks in the area. Last weekend I had a date with my two oldest GrandGurlz. Kayleigh is 12 and Saedie is 11. They are like most pre-teens, addicted to their phones, texting and playing on the ipad. When I picked the girls up I explained that I had made arrangements to completely unplug from my phone and Internet and hoped they could do the same. They agreed that we would spend the entire day without any form of electronics. UNPLUGGED!!! Yes a WIN for Nanna.
