family: Uncertain Times...

Did you notice that stock market jump yesterday? Whoa! It jumped up over 900 points. I believe that is a record! I don't know where it's going from here. I don't think anybody does. (I think it's down a little bit at the moment.) But, I'm trying to focus on the important things in life - My family, my friends, and my faith in God. Knowing that God has everything under control is very comforting and strengthening. family: Name a star after someone...?
- 06/08/08 10:40 AM
For years I have been hearing this commercial about naming a star after your loved one as a gift. I heard it when Mother's Day was coming up, and now I hear it because Father's Day is around the corner. To me, naming a star after someone would be like purchasing a time share on Pluto. You're purchasing air. I tell my husband & family that if they ever name a star after me (and pay for it), I will never speak to them again! :) Do people actually do this? I guess they must, because the commercials are still going (9 comments)

He is a good man. family: Day Trip!

Our family went to visit one of our sons in college today. His name is Stephen. He goes to a Christian college in Greenville, MO. It's only about an hour and a half from our house. It is far enough away for our son to be on his own, yet close enough for visits every so often. :) Stephen was happy to see us. (We hadn't seen him for a couple of months.) It was a beautiful day! There happened to be a barbecue for the college students in the courtyard. After eating, the students played frisbee with each other. They included Stephen's brother (4 comments)
