I was standing next to a rock jetty on a beach during my San Diego visit last week, photographing this little Willet. All of a sudden, he started screaming (REALLY screaming!) and flapping, and took off. I thought I had gotten too close to him, and scared him. But I've never had a bird react to me like THAT!
Then, I looked to my left, and sitting on the jetty I saw this!

With this post I hit 100,000 points on AR! WhooHoo! The '100' in the photo above was not done with Photoshop. It's a photographic technique that originated in Germany, called Light Painting Photography. The technique involves setting up in a completely dark room, adjusting your camera settings, in this case shutter speed was set at 10 seconds, and the aperture at f5.6, (you would obviously require a tripod). I was driving on the Martin Luther King Expressway in Colorado Springs, when I saw that a storm was coming in from the mountains in the west. While it was not yet raining where I was, I could see the rain falling over the mountains. It was gorgeous! MS Publisher Crashing on 'Save' Hello all! OK, I give up! I've spent the better part of two evenings trying to figure out why Publisher crashes on 'save'. Every time, without exception. Someone posted a quote or a poem by Edgar Guest last week, and I apologize for not remembering who it was (PLEASE feel free to let me know!), and it reminded me that I have a very old, small, red book of verse by the very down to earth Mr. Edgar Guest. I bought the book in an antique store many years ago, because while flipping thru the pages, I ran across this poem. I loved it.
