west seattle: Seattle Home Values Calculated by Zillow for 3rd Quarter 2008

Zillow released its' Seattle Real Estate Trends yesterday for the third quarter (July, August, September) of 2008. Their calculations show that Seattle home values have decreased -7.53% compared to the third quarter of 2007. As a point of comparison, home values Nationally decreased -9.7% for the same quarter. If you click through the links to Click for Seattle values you will find on the left under Seattle, the Excel icon . When you click there, you will find 5 tabs at the bottom of the page; "Summary", "Metro Area & County", "City", "Neighborhood", and "Glossary". Yesterday evening a friend and I went in search of Christmas Lights in Seattle. This year we decided to follow KOMO TV's (channel 4) Parade of Lights suggestions for seeing spectacular Christmas Lights. The weather was great on this first full day of winter, the skies cleared from rain during the day, and the almost full moon made an appearance. We picked up Eggnog Shakes at Tully's to add to the Christmas Cheer, yum! We used the list I had made from KOMO TV's online list to cover the key homes with wonderful Christmas Lights, and while driving to each destination we discovered many other beautiful displays. west seattle: December 1st this year in Seattle began in a flurry of snow and Christmas Shopping.

Seattle is known more for it's drizzly, and rainy days especially in winter. But this year we got a Christmas Season surprise with a day of snow flurries on December 1st and in the middle of a Saturday afternoon of Christmas shopping. Since I was not holding an Open House at one of my listings, I was enjoying a day off. I was out with a friend shopping for Christmas decorations at University Village when the snow began falling...it was beautiful. Something I had always wanted to experience, Christmas shopping with snow falling!

Seattle - Queen Anne's Kerry Park One of the most beautiful places to view the Space Needle, Downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, West Seattle and Mt Rainier (when the mountain is out!) is from Queen Anne's Kerry Park. The Park is a destination for tourists, Seattlites, photographers, and the neighborhood. Located on the South Slope, near the top of Queen Anne Hill with all it's shops, restaurants, pubs and Queen Anne style (as well as others!) homes. Seattle with its' hilly terraine has views everywhere, and with all the bodies of water, many have water views as well.
