All crafts and foods have to be homegrown or handmade. Clarksville Downtown Market is an outdoor market held on Public Square from May until October.

There are so many different items available each week and vendors have changed from week to week. There have been some that made it every week. You still have one more chance to find fresh produce, handmade crafts or eat fresh food or fresh baked goodies provided by … (3 comments)

downtown: The Community Feel of Living in Clarksville TN - 09/22/18 05:46 PM
Why Living in Clarksville TN Feels Good

Though I wouldn't call Clarksville a small town any longer, it still has a small town feel. People are friendly and will speak to you on the streets, in stores and in your neighborhood.

There are many other reasons that Clarksville is a wonderful place to live. The lay of the land is pretty with gently rolling hills, several rivers and gorgeous deciduous trees. The biggest river, the Cumberland River is so peaceful and is and recreational magnet, quiet place to walk, or a reflective destination to sit and watch the barges and riverboats go by. The rivers … (4 comments)

Serendipity Sundays - #StarryNightClarksville

It was a sunny day and the weather was nearly perfect to show off the new mural, #StarryNightClarksville that was added earlier this year. This recent addition to the downtown area is painted on the C. David Elliott building on Madison Street. It is a depiction of the Customs House Museum and the Montgomery County Courthouse.

The talented artist is Olasubomi Aka-Bashorum. The 120 foot mural was sponsored by Two Rivers Company which promotes business and growth in the downtown area.  This is the first in a series of downtown murals to come. The artist completed it earlier this year and said … (3 comments)

downtown: Tomatoes, Tomatoes and More Tomatoes at Clarksville Downtown Market - 08/10/18 09:16 PM
Clarksville Downtown Market on Saturday Mornings
It has been hot the last few weeks and that has brought lots of tomatoes to the Clarksville Downtown Market. There are all kinds of peppers and veggies coming in by the basket load.
The vendors have changed week to week but some have been regulars at each market. One of my friends is selling baked good and another is selling lettuces, cucumbers, and kale. Shoppers that arrive early get the best selection and those coming later can get the best buys as vendors want to sell out and not have to haul their produce back home.

This is an award winning market packed full of crafts, … (9 comments)

downtown: Sunday Smiles - Summer in Downtown Clarksville - 07/29/18 07:09 PM
Clarksville TN in the Summer Time
We have such a pretty Historic Downtown and Sundays are a wonderful day to take a drive and check out some of the fine restaurants that are offered. The beautiful buildings offer the old with the new. My favorite is the Montgomery County Courthouse.
The grounds are always excellently maintained and there are benches for moments of pondering and reflection. Across from the courthouse is the Custom House Museum. It is open on Sunday afternoons and many times the train display is up and running.

If you live in the Clarksville area, don't miss a trip to downtown in the summertime. Many … (2 comments)

downtown: Reasons I Love Living in Clarksville TN - 05/22/18 05:11 PM
Clarksville TN is Becoming Home to Many

As more and more people move to Clarksville for the job opportunities, for the lower cost of living and the proximity to Nashville, the atmosphere and friendliness of the city and welcoming nature of the residents get into their hearts and win them over.

Just today I have met two new couples that said how much they like it here and want to stay and buy a home. It helps that housing costs are some of the lowest of all of the Middle Tennessee area.
We are blessed to have Ft. Campbell (home of the 101st Airborne Division) resides in our area, … (14 comments)

Just Days Until Clarksville Downtown Market Opens
The local farmers are making plans to bring some of their best fresh produce to the Clarksville Downtown Market. The market is now a tradition in Clarksville and hundreds of shoppers attend each week.

You'll find more than just fruits and veggies. Their are plants, food and crafts. You can also buy organic milk and order your meat straight from the farm. It is much like a street fair. The market will be open on most Saturdays until mid-October from 8am to 1pm except during the hottest times it will close at noon.

Vendors may change week to week. There are different items available … (9 comments)

downtown: There is Something for Everyone in Clarksville, TN - 05/03/18 07:53 PM
Clarksville is a Growing Town
It has something for everyone. There is a beautiful river, historic downtown, quaint eating places and a State University. There is plenty of shopping, a wide variety of neighborhoods and city parks, jobs galore and new industry coming to town. The people are friendly, the community events are inviting, there are lots of sports, and a highly ranked school system.
If all this isn't enough, Nashville is a 35 minute drive away and Fort Campbell is 20 minutes. Land Between the Lakes is 45 minutes which will please even the most serious anglers out there.
I would love to … (9 comments)

3 Weeks Away Until Clarksville Downtown Market Opens
It seems the market opens later and later each year. For 2018, the opening day is on Memorial Day Weekend, May 26. This is not soon enough for me. Produce is coming into the local stores but we will have to wait for the familiar vendors to come to the Clarksville Downtown Market. This is an outdoor market held on Public Square. Once it opens it will continue on most Saturdays until mid-October. The opening time is 8am to midday.

Christmas in Downtown Clarksville

Clarksville has a Historic Downtown that is pretty to see any time of the year. But when Christmastime rolls around, you don't want to miss seeing it in the evening hours. It is all lit up with lights and decorated lampposts and lighted buildings and streetways.
I promise you it is worth the drive to take a look and see the magic going on. On Public Square you'll see the lighted tree in front of City Hall and City Hall has trees in all of their arched windows. Franklin St. and Strawberry Alley are in lights and you will feel in the … (10 comments)

If ice skating is your sport and you have been wishing for a place to skate close to home then your wish has been granted. In Downtown Commons Clarksville, the seasonal ice skating rink opened the Friday after Thanksgiving and will be open until January 31st.
It is going to be a hit in Clarksville and is totally the result of the hard work of Montgomery County's Mayor and the Two Rivers Company, a non-profit organization which is focused on bringing business and activities to Downtown Clarksville. There was a lot of controversy about the County being instrumental in  opening a … (17 comments)

Clarksville Downtown Market

The Clarksville Downtown Market has it's final market of the season on Saturday Oct. 14. This has been a great season and the vendors have been exceptional. Some came only a few times and others were there every week. This makes each week fun and different.
Clarksville Downtown Market has had a full array of colorful fruits and veggies, crafts and foods. Now that fall is here the fall flowers, gourds, squashes, pumpkins, Indian Corn and fall decor are big items.

The baked goods, handmade items, honey and preserves are good to take home. Each week the variety changes so for the remaining … (12 comments)
