Serendipity Sundays- Seller Kindness

When representing a buyer client there is always the question of how clean the sellers will turn the home over to the buyers. I prepare my buyers that the contract states broom clean condition and all debris and personal items removed. It is a bit of a dice roll how it will look unless it's stipulated in the contract for a professional cleaning to be done and you risk insulting the seller about the care of their home.
When I moved a few years ago I hired professional cleaners and had every baseboard, window, all trim work, cabinets polished and … (33 comments)

Serendipity Sundays- Turtles

I love watching animals and therefore my visit to the National Zoo was very exciting. Turtles are fascinating to me. I feel a kinship to them as to how they relate to real estate.
Turtles are slow and steady. They move with a purpose. Some agents move slow and steady, too. Some never leave their shells and stay safe inside where they do not grow and prosper.
There is nothing wrong with being prepared and waiting to take risks but in the end, risk is needed to move forward. Have you noticed that a turtle doesn't go anywhere without sticking his head out … (22 comments)

However you choose to spend the day, remember we are rich in friends and blessings that come our way each day. sundays: Sunday Evening Smiles - 11/26/17 07:31 PM
Sunday Sunset
There is nothing quite like the beauty of the beach and couple that with a gorgeous sunset and life is in a perfect place. It makes me smile.
There are people I know that have never seen the beach and have only heard about it. They should make it a priority to see it at least once. If they do, they will want to go back again and again.

Serendipity Sundays- Poodle in the Sky

The clouds today were so fluffy and white against a deep blue sky. Watching them take shape has always been a fascination of mine. I can see faces, animals and trees form into shapes.  My husband said that he saw a dog and I had to agree. In fact, it looked like a poodle so I quickly got out my camera and took a photo.
Can you see the poodle in the sky?

sundays: Serendipity Sundays- Is It Winter or Is It Spring? - 02/12/17 03:17 PM
Serendipity Sundays - Signs of Spring?
It is February 12th and mild temperatures prevail. There have been so many warmer days in the last couple of weeks that the flowers and trees are getting signals that spring is here. These flowers are blooming not far from Stones Manor, a new home neighborhood in the Rossview area. It has a country atmosphere and the early daffodils help confirm that.
Is it winter or is it spring? I don't think we will be having 6 more weeks of winter like Phil said. In Clarksville, I am on the lookout for other blooming things like the forsythia, the willow trees … (27 comments)

sundays: Serendipity Sundays - I See Stars - 09/25/16 12:53 PM

While doing some window shopping on a recent trip, I found these stars in a storefront window. Unfortunately the store was closed and I couldn't go inside to get a closer look.

These stars were lit inside and it made them even more beautiful and almost twinkling. I tried to image where I could use one to brighten my day or my office.

It wasn't to be. All I have are the photos of what might have been a great gift for someone or me. Don't you agree that they are magnificent?

sundays: Serendipity Sundays- The TRID Surprise - 01/03/16 10:15 AM
Serendipity Sundays - The TRID Surprise
It was announced more than a year ago that it was coming. As the first deadline in August of 2015 approached the word was that lenders and closing companies were not ready. The start date was postponed until October 3 and this extra time helped.
Everyone jumped in and provided training to get lenders, agents and closers prepared and educated. When the date came we did not immediately feel any change. Closers and lenders managed and worked long hours on closings to make them right. Now that 3 months have passed, we see it wasn't all that bad. Change is the hardest part. … (41 comments)

Serendipity Sundays - The Courthouse at Christmastime

Taking a drive through Clarksville's Historic Downtown is always a pleasure but the time of day that will take you breath away is at dusk. The Montgomery County Courthouse at Christmastime is lit in soft lights accenting the angles and architecture of this classic structure. It has survived a couple of  fires and a tornado and been brought back to life.
In my opinion Clarksville has one of the prettiest courthouses in the South and possibly the whole country. It no longer holds court but many county offices are housed inside. Walk the granite steps and marble floors … (17 comments)

Serendipity Sundays - My First Tomatoes in Years

When we built our new house last year part of the plan was to have a place to plant herbs and vegetables near the back door. On the landscape plan it was designated as my kitchen garden and the landscaper put in a drip irrigation system to keep me from having to remember to water every day.
I got excited when the first vegetable plants hit the shelves in the garden centers and bought about 12 tomato plants. I didn't know what I was buying and just bought a variety. I thought I would be … (28 comments)

Serendipity Sundays - Just a Swinging
There are features in some homes that bring out good feelings, warm memories and a desire to just try them out. This swing is one of those enticing features. At the listing I couldn't resist trying it out and swing for awhile. The setting was so inviting and I could see myself living there and enjoying the surroundings on a daily basis.
My hope is a buyer will feel the same way. If they are tempted like I was they will stay and do a little swinging too. And if they get really begin to relax and feel at home then … (27 comments)
