Happy Thanksgiving There is so much to be thankful for. I woke up another day in a warm and beautiful home with my wonderful husband to share it with. The aromas and baking are in the air and preparations are in the works to make things ready for family and friends to gather later today. There have been so many wonderful posts written about the things we are thankful for. The variety has been enlightening and there have been some common elements too, like our homes, families, ActiveRain, fur babies and friends.

Some people might think we make opportunities. I believe we can be placed in a situations where opportunities present themselves but must also recognize when they are there and take action. As I look at things I am thankful for, I see so many opportunities that have come my way during the last year. So many business opportunities have blessed me. I love my husband, children and my brothers and sisters. Today is Thanksgiving which in my life means you spend it with those you love. Not all could come this year but it still was a great day. Giving Thanks for my Family I grew up in a big family. There were 5 of us kids and lots of fighting and hand me downs. We had traditions many I have carried over still today. Money was tight but we knew we were loved and would be taken care of and would not without food or clothing. I am the middle child. I get together often with my sisters and see my brothers a couple of times a year. We do not live in the same towns so it takes some coordinating and extra effort. Giving Thanks for my Home Owning a home is very special and not to be taken for granted. Home is more than a building or dwelling, it is a habitat, a sanctuary. I am thankful for my home each and every day. When I wake up in the mornings, I love knowing that I am safe and sound in my home. All the children are grown so it is just me and my husband living here. We start off slow in the mornings with him getting up a full hour before me. It takes 8 hours to get to the beach if we drive but once I am there I feel like I am in heaven. The sugar sand beaches of Destin are the prettiest beaches I know and the water is so pretty in contrast to it. I am thankful for beaches, walking in the sand, sitting and reflecting, getting time to read and chill out on the beach and looking for seashells. I like jumping the waves and wading in to my knees. I'm Thankful for my Real Estate Career On day 5 of the gratitude challenge, I am thankful for having a thriving real estate business. I am beginning my 37th year as a licensed agent and looking back I never thought I would still be enjoying it these many years later. There have been highs and lows but also incredible opportunities to grow and build a future in real estate. It is so satisfying helping people sell their homes and find homes that they love. When you look around you will see plenty to make you smile and fill your day with happiness. Today is my 31st wedding anniversary and that makes me smile. I think about our four children and that makes me smile. Our four grandsons are so full of energy and that makes me smile. I like my job, I like my life.

I subscribe to JamesClear.com newletters and find them very uplifting and beneficial to my business. Today's was about Thanksgiving of course and how our thinking needs to be modified.

Thankful Thursday Today is by tradition a day to think about our blessings. Mine are many and living in this country and having freedoms are just a few of them. Most of us have ailments as my grandmother used to say but we are able to get out of bed each day and go out into the world and enjoy our days. Good health is not to be taken for granted.
