thankfulness: Food and Good Food is a Real Blessing - 11/18/16 09:15 AM
I Am Thankful for Food
In these days before Thanksgiving my thoughts have turned to food. It is a blessing to have plenty of food because so many go to bed hungry every night.  I am so thankful that my pantry is full and my freezer has many options for me to prepare a meal.
I am particular about my food and want it to have lots of flavor. I don't particularly like any fast food and like food prepared fresh with lots of herbs and spices. Given an option, I prefer to cook at home and satisfy whatever it is I am craving.
Getting a … (17 comments)

What Makes a Happy Thanksgiving at Your House?
I am wishing Happy Thanksgiving to everyone I see or talk to and correspond with. The same greeting is coming back to me.What makes for a Happy Thanksgiving at your House?
We all have our own traditions and if you are like me, you start looking forward to them days and weeks ahead of the big day. I have heard many people say this is their favorite holiday because it is so pure and not commercialized unless you choose to go fight the crowd for early Black Friday shopping. There are no presents, no … (37 comments)

Thankful for My AR Community. Today I got a big surprise. I opened my mail and had a Thanksgiving card from one of my AR friends. It was so unexpected and really made me feel good. For one thing, she took the time to send it by mail (real mail). Second, she thought of me and wanted to wish me individually a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks goes out to her for her thoughtfulness and the kindness she showed me with the card and also in our everyday interactions in the Rain..Since I am thankful for my AR community, the friends and mentors … (23 comments)

thankfulness: I Am Thankful for the Sun - 11/20/12 11:44 PM
I Am Thankful for the Sun. I am very thankful for the sun becomes it lights the days so we can work without artificial light. It also gives us warmth. When I was younger I would lay out in the sun to get a suntan. Though I don’t do that anymore because of the dangers I do still like the warm glow of a tan on the skin. I like the feel of the sun shining down on me when I am outdoors as long as the air temperature is not too hot.The sun helps plants grow and keeps nature in … (22 comments)

My Car, Thank Goodness I Have One and can drive. Since I sell real estate in Clarksville TN it is a must to have a vehicle to get around. We have public transportation but it doesn’t reach all the corners of our real estate market.I am Thankful for my Car. It is nothing really fancy but it is a comfortable and reliable ride that gets me where I need to go. I like a dependable car and when it starts giving me problems I want to quickly bail on it. I usually keep newer vehicles just for that reason. The warranty … (40 comments)

thankfulness: I Am Thankful for My IPad - 11/13/12 10:45 PM
I Am Thankful for My IPad. Today was a day that if I hadn’t had an iPad I would have been severely crippled. Crippled in the sense that I would not have been able to get my work done or make several blogging comments.I Am Thankful for My IPad. I had to wait 4 hours for our Gas and Water Department to come turn on service to a new REO listing of mine. So you may wonder why I would spend my time doing that. My assistant's time is better used doing her technology duties on the computers at the office. Plus … (33 comments)

thankfulness: I Am Thankful for Rest - 11/13/12 12:37 AM

That leaves little time for just rest.Rest is define by Webster as a bodily state characterized by minimal functional and metabolic activities or a: freedom from activity or labor, b: a state of motionlessness or inactivity.I Am Thankful for Rest whether it is just sleep or freedom from my labors. thankfulness: I Am Thankful For My Cell Phone, Most Days - 11/07/12 10:56 AM
I Am Thankful For My Cell Phone, Most Days. I can remember the days of one big black rotary dial telephone per household. The phone numbers were short because not everyone had a home phone. The phone sat on its own little stand in the hallway of our house where it could be easily accessed. I Am Thankful For My Cell Phone, Most Days. With four brothers and sisters, we fought over the use of the phone to call our friends. When any of us was dating someone special, hours were spent on the phone talking and sometimes just breathing and saying … (32 comments)

thankfulness: Being Thankful for the Sense of Smell - 11/04/12 11:11 AM
Being Thankful for the Sense of Smell. Yes you heard me right, I am thankful for smells. Some people cannot smell and I know they miss a lot. Smells alert us to danger like the smell of smoke, something burning or natural gas leaks. They also tell us when food doesn’t smell right and we need to pass on it. Smells tell us to stay away from certain areas like where something has died or rotted and where an animal has been and we don't need to go.

On the more pleasant  side, being thankful for the sense of smell brings about good memories too, … (19 comments)

thankfulness: Observations from Halloween 2012 - 11/01/12 07:04 AM
Observations from Halloween 2012

In Clarksville TN we were not affected by Hurricane Sandy other than some windy and cloudy days. We are indeed thankful for that and the fact that our children were able to join in a little fun of Trick or Treating with good weather. Many of the children have parents that are deployed to overseas war zones and having a sense of normalcy at home is very important to their lives.

My observations of Halloween 2012 are that I noticed there were more Trick or Treaters than in past years. The costumes were of assorted … (14 comments)
