pennslyvania: Talking the Talk, Walking the Walk
- 07/26/19 10:02 AM
So many successful people who have become self-made, talk a lot about being a bootstrapper like Donald Trump. I really wouldn’t consider the President a bootstrapper but who can argue with Donald Trump.
My point is that it’s hard being self-made. People like us hear “no” repeatedly. Not only that but our family members fail to believe in us. Our friends laugh at us and others point fingers at us in judgment.
Making it requires not only skill and talent, but also perseverance and emotional intelligence to fight through all the difficult times. Therefore, when someone that started on the bottom becomes successful, (0 comments)
pennslyvania: You really want Zillow to buy your house?
- 03/06/19 05:24 PM
Zillow's new service-ibuyer has hit the market in Phoenix, Atlanta, and Denver. There are three commercials which play on the emotions of a seller. Zillow claims a seller would be interested in selling their home for cash to a company they know and can trust -all while making a bubble beard and cooking unicorn pancakes. Very cute, but misleading. As there are many educated consumers that will be able to understand this arrangement, at the same time there are many others that will not. Unfortunately, a lot of sellers will not hire a professional realtor or real estate attorney to help navigate them (4 comments)
pennslyvania: Real Estate is Changing

There are cars flying over my head as I’m sitting on a park bench sending a text message on my arm. Yes, you didn’t misread and there are no typos in the above sentence. Welcome to the future. It may not be that far away from the time you are reading this post. I’m a Realtor/Broker/Owner/Author/Speaker and I recently wrote a book about my rapid rise to success titled “Burning Desire” ……. With this being said, my intentions were to write about a series of activities to focus on while climbing the success ladder in real estate. Well, after reading about (4 comments)
pennslyvania: "Finishing Friends"
- 06/21/18 07:53 AM
I'm an avid reader. I love to read about technology, history, real estate, and self-improvement. I recently came across a book written by a local Broker/Lawyer in my area titled "Finishing on Top: How to achieve personal goals, become successful, and experience happiness through the power of finishing by Sherman Toppin, ESQ. In the book, the author makes mention of "Finishing Friends". He says that to achieve success you must climb a mountain and all your friends who are on the bottom of the mountain with you will think you are crazy once you start climbing. On your journey to the top (4 comments)
pennslyvania: Moving Forward
- 06/20/18 08:24 AM
Moving forward can be challenging in business and in our personal lives. Seller's or possible seller's are currently reluctant to put their homes up for sale because of possibly not being able to find another home. There is somewhat uncertainty in our political environment and a mirage of other issues. As Realtor's it can also be difficult to continue on in our changing industry as well as trying to understand who to market too-when-and how? However, as Fredrick Douglas said "If there is no struggle, there is no progress" As Realtors, sellers and buyers we have to keep going and sift through the challenge of (2 comments)

My goal is to get from the kitchen table to the settlement table, quickly! (1 comments)
pennslyvania: How do you stay motivated?
- 02/13/18 04:17 AM
The sales industry is stuff. It doesn't matter if you are selling cars, insurance, advertisement, and such-it's a daily grind. How do real estate agents stay motivated to continue on day after day, week after week, month and month, year after year in the face of rejection, disappointment, and a roller coaster ride of a dozen more emotions along with commissions. Well, I write my goals down everyday and every time I encounter a frustrating or difficult challenge to remind myself of what my end game ultimately is. I also exercise, blog, journal write, read, pray, meditate, take mini breaks, and laugh. What do you do (2 comments)
pennslyvania: Why agents are afraid of the big F/U???
- 02/11/18 07:46 PM
Yes, i said F/U! Follow Up! As a Realtor following up should not be a scary thing to do. It puts money in your pocket and gives you an opportunity to soar beyond measure. I sold approximate 100 homes in my first two years of real estate sales, and many of those sales came from relentless following up. I did not quit when the homeowner said no I'm not ready to list my home, I kept pushing gently, with their permission of course, to continue to pursue the listing. Sometimes, I followed up once, some twice, but often it was months (1 comments)
pennslyvania: Real Estate Poem
- 01/12/18 04:22 PM
Okay, so I met John and Jan on a cold call last week as I was prospecting for new business. They have a house for sale in Darby, Pa in (suburb outside of Philadelphia). We chat, I schedule an appointment, John confirms, and we meet on Tuesday. John is filled with so much historical information about the house, the city, and so much more. I'm a fan of history, but his knowledge-Jan as well, far exceeds any little bit of tidbits that I've self-taught myself along the way. I mean because you can't learn the entire history of America in school, (1 comments)
pennslyvania: Buying a home is better than renting
- 12/09/16 09:15 AM
Buying a home can be better than renting in some situations. Overall, I like to say buying over renting, but the statement that "renting is throwing away money" is not necessarily true. Are you shocked that a real estate agent can even utter those words? Well, let me give you three reasons why I believe buying a home can be better than renting in some situations. 1. In order to purchase a home, you must be emotionally ready for this life changing event. Life changing because a lot of your free time will go towards the care and maintenance of your home. pennslyvania: Buy Now! Stop Waiting! You may lose or overpay later!
- 12/07/16 05:46 PM
Now is the time to buy your dream home. Stop waiting! A lost opportunity may cost you! Why buy now? Well, I will give you three good reasons. 1. Mortgage rates are increasing. The rate for a FHA, 30 year fixed is currently at 4.75. Just a couple of months ago, that particular rate was at 3.5. The longer you wait and delay your home purchase, will only cause you to pay more in the end. 2. It's a seller's market. This means that inventory is very low in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. As a result, your dream home may go to someone (4 comments)
