The City of Longwood invites you to be a part of our 1st Annual Arbor Park Barkfest on Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 - 1:00pm at the Arbor Park Dog Park (1405 N. Grant St.). I move to Longwood in 1991 and quickly discovered Jerry's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. It because a family favorite very quickly and is still our go to pizza place in Longwood.
Jerry's came to Florida from Delaware and is still located at 300 St Laurent St # 128, Longwood, FL 32750, near the intersection of SR 434 and Rangeline Road. They have a second location at SR 434 and SR 436 in Altamonte Springs, FL.
While pizza is a favorite, they have a full lunch and dinner menu at the Longwood location. The ravioi with a side of meatballs is still my favorite dinner from Jerry's. You can … (3 comments)

longwood fl: Longwood FL First Christmas Parade

I have been a resident of Longwood, FL since 1991 and this is the first parade sponsored by the Longwood Citizens on Patrol ever. The event was held December 13, 2014 in downtown Longwood. There were 108 entries who entered the parade. Those who went enjoyed themselves and saw a variety of local groups and businesses walk the parade route.
Congressman John Mica, Congressman Bob Cortes also joined the festivities.
You can see by the photos, the weather was absolutely beautiful for the parade. The parade was a big success!

National Night Out is Tuesday, August 5th!
Join us as we celebrate the 31st annual National Night Out at Candyland Park. Our 3rd annual FREE Shred-a-Thon is being held at the north entrance of the park from 4:30pm-7:30pm (weather permitting-or until the truck is full!) where Longwood Police Explorers will assist with drive through service! Commissioners will be manning the grills and all can enjoy the rock climbing wall, live music, local vendors and the Police vs. Fire softball game!

longwood fl: I took a ride on the new SunRail!

While awaiting arrival of the train, an announcement came on stating that folks on the Orlando platforms, both North and South bound need to exit the platform immediately. No other messages. Short thereafter, two people on the train I was waiting for stated the train was halted. Than we got another announcement that SunRail was temporarily suspended.
We came to find out that there was a leaking cooler left behind which caused the delay which was about 30 mintues.
I met with friends on the train, we got to town quickly after the cooler was deemed no threat. I tracked my … (0 comments)
