Friday, November 2 from 5-7 p.m. is the Art Loop in Wilmington,  including 20+ galleries in Downtown Wilmington, New Castle, Arden, Bellefonte, and Greenville. Always fun, lots of original art, plus snacks and drinks are offered at most places, and you meet the most interesting people!
Saturday, November 3 is First Saturday in the First State with one of Dover's most popular themes, the First State Heritage Park's 18th Century Market Fair on the Green from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine. I really don't want to get a reputation as a big "crab," but some houses leave me not feeling well. To explain: I visited a broker open house the other day, mostly because it was said to be an old farmhouse (i.e. see picture) , and you know that is my weakness.
However, it turned out that it was the house that the builder had  lived in and renovated while he built a high-end community around it. I had to ask where the old house was, because other than one exposed stone wall inside, and a front door, it looked like the … (2 comments)

Since its first Wildflower Celebration in 2004, Mt. Cuba botanical gardens have been open to the public. First on a limited basis, it is  now open Wednesday to Sunday April to November.  This duPont estate was constructed in 1935 for and by duPont family members. In 1949 they brought in well known landscape architect Marian Coffin to design formal gardens.
Today, the duPonts are gone, and these gardens near Wilmington, Delaware have been transformed from cornfields into thriving ecologically functional landscapes featuring many native Piedmont plants. Trulia has rated the best towns for a Gingerbread Family to live to celebrate National Gingerbread day, December 12. They are all in California, Hawaii, Arizona and Florida.
Also listed were the worst places for this mythical family to live, including Newark, Delaware (OUCH!) I don't understand all those warm weather places winning--frosting melts!! (Photo Parade Magazine)
