delaware real estate market: Real Estate Activity and How it Affects Historic Homes - 07/24/18 08:30 AM
 
As we all have observed in our part of the country, real estate activity in June in Delaware was reflective of the weather: everyone was hiding inside with the air conditioning turned up high and trying to avoid participating in the real estate market.
New listings were down almost 10% compared to the same time last year,  and closed sales were only up a fraction of a percent. The median sales price was only up about 2% compared to June of 2017, and about the same for the year to date as last year.

The numbers are in for 2016 Real Estate market activity for Kent County Delaware. If we compare this to the report for New Castle County, just to the north, we find that new listings in Kent County are almost even with the previous year, where they were slightly down in New Castle County.
Also, closed sales were slightly higher in Kent, and pending sales had a big jump, where to the north, they were actually down slightly. Interestingly, while median sales prices were down to the south, they were up 7% in New Castle County. A similiarity is that percentage of original … (0 comments)
