turtle day: Turtleheads And A 7 Turtle Day At Mt. Cuba Center - 09/19/11 12:49 PM
  
On a wildflower walk yesterday at the Mt. Cuba Center Greenville, Delaware, we saw not only the luscious Turtleheads (Chelone Glabra) but what the guides later told me was something that made the day a "7 Turtle Day." Who knew you could rate a day by the number of turtles sunning on a log in the pond?  Former home of DuPont Co. president and Mrs. Lammot duPont Copeland, the 600 acre estate was transformed from a boring field into a treasure chest of native plants of the Appalachian Piedmont starting in the 1930's.
