Delaware State Housing Authority recently announced rates of 3.99 percent interest on 30-year, fixed-rate, mortgages for first-time homebuyers.
Delaware Bond rates have not been this low in Delaware since 1979. This is a first-time buyers program, with zero points and can be used in combination with a second mortgage. The maximum home purchase can be as high as $378,000 as long as the borrower's income limit does not exceeed $89,470.  All loans are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Holy Cow Batman! Delaware is breaking the bank with alternate energy resources. First the wind turbine in Lewes Delaware on the UD campus with a planned turbine farm in Rehoboth Beach in 2012 and now... ta da- Dover signed purchase agreements to pave the way for construction to begin on one of the mid-Atlantic region's largest solar energy power plants. Construction on the 10-megawatt Dover SUN Park will begin later this year on 103 acres owned by the city of Dover off White Oak Road. The Delaware Video and Sports Lottery Commission reports two additional casinos in Delaware would maximize state revenue as nearby states move forward with expanded gambling efforts. The best locations for would be in the northeast New Castle County and southwestern Sussex County areas, according to the report. If the state ignores out-of-state competition, Delaware stands to lose hundreds of millions in revenue as Delaware's market share would be lost to Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania.
