For those 77,000 members of the Delaware Electric Cooperative, you should be receiving a credit refund. Since you are owners of the co-op, you share in the margins, otherwise known as profits. The co-op strives to keep rates as low as possible, so when there are profits, they go back to the consumer. This year, there is $1.5 million in margins that will be credited to the owners- you!

Delaware was recognized on Oct 21st by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy  as the most improved state in energy efficiency policy and programs. According to an all-state scorecard from the council, Delaware was the most improved state, leaping from 32 in the nation last year to 20 this year. Delaware Governor, Jack Markell, said "We're pleased to be recognized... as the most improved state and to join other states in the list of top-20 performers with respect to energy efficiency." He also went on to say this will create jobs and improve industry growth.
