merritt island: Merritt Island waterfront homes –state of the market March 26, 2010
- 03/27/10 07:08 AM
Over the last 90 days 34 waterfront homes were sold in Merritt Island, per the MLS. This search included waterfront homes that are either canal-navigational and/or on the Banana River, Indian River, Sykes Creek or Newfound Harbor. Looking back at my post, just over a year ago, dated February 15, 2009 I find that the number of houses sold within the past 90 days and currently active on the market is similar but the prices are lower. With rates still under 5% for a 30 year conventional loan is now the time to buy? You would be hard-pressed to find someone (0 comments)
merritt island: Update on Merritt Island home sales this summer
- 06/10/09 01:11 AM
I am finding that properties are moving here. Over the last couple of weeks I've worked with a buyer in the $150-$250K range, about half of the listings he wanted to see went under contract within a week. I've been working with 2 buyers in the $300-$500K range and have been seeing almost a 1/3 of the properties they selected to see going under contract within a week or two. I have not had the same problem with my buyers in the range of $600-$850K. Today's paper said that foreclosures are down for the 2nd straight month in Brevard county. The Florida Association of Realtors released a report showing (0 comments)

Florida Today continues to report that sales have picked up in Brevard county. There is speculation, or at least hope, that we have hit bottom or are very close to bottom. What I do know is that since my last post on waterfront homes in Merritt Island, the sales have doubled. According to the MLS, over the last 90 days 31 waterfront homes sold. The majority of these are canal-navigational homes on Sykes Creek. Waterfront homes sold in Merritt Island over the last 90 days: Between $190,000 and $300,000 12 homes were sold Between $300,000 and $400,000 15 homes were sold (2 comments)

Located 45 minutes East of Orlando, Merritt Island in Brevard County, is a great place to call home. It is surrounded by water from the Indian River Lagoon to the Banana River with Sykes Creek and Newfound Harbor in between. If you are looking to live in tropical paradise look no further. The island is an hour from Orlando's theme parks and attractions and a mere 5 minutes from the ocean. Visit Cape Canaveral for a seafood dinner and an evening on a casino ship. Play in the sand and then shop at Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. Merritt (2 comments)
merritt island: What to expect when you move to tropical paradise

Ok, so my husband and I moved to tropical paradise February 1, 2008. We rented a home for 3 months on South Banana River Drive in Merritt Island. This gave us time to scope out the area, gave me time to get my Florida Real Estate license and find a broker here. We loved the area from the first time we came out to check it out in 2007. Our price range and personal preferences led us to search for a permanet home from Satellite Beach to Merritt Island. We learned a lot in those first 3 months of searching the MLS, viewing (0 comments)

Ok, so this is my first blog. I've been meaning to get around to it for years. I guess I needed to get so excited about a topic that I would feel compelled to publicly express it. Recently I earned my TRC, which stands for Transnational Referral Certification, at the Real Estate Expo in Orlando. I was so intrigued by what I learned there that I immediately signed up for my first CIPS course, that is Certified International Property Specialist. Last week I completed the first course "International Real Estate for Local Markets" and am moving forward with my designation application and signing (0 comments)
