As a previous guest at Morristown Rotary, Jeff Branham, City Engineer, presented a program about the large power generator that the City Engineering Department along with Morristown Police and Emergency Management Team escorted through town last June. Now there is a video produced by Barnhart that shows the process. At the meeting, Jeff Branham showed photos and described plans explaining the complex timeline and efforts by the City to ensure this extraordinary transport event made it through town without damaging anything. One of the many community projects Morristown Rotary supports is Hillcrest School's Library, and yesterday the club presented their annual donation to the new principal of Hillcrest School, Martha Kelley.
Martha was present at the regular noon meting of the Morristown Rotary Club on September 8th to accept the funds and she spoke to the club of her appreciation and her plans to use this years contribution to enhance the library's biography and non-fiction sections. The members of GFWC Somo Sala Circle will be meet tomorrow at the women's clubhouse at Noon on September 1st, 2010. The gathering and social time will start at noon and the program will begin at 12:30. The Morristown Rotary Club Board decided on August 10th to move forward with a plan to create an online presence for the club as a means of communication between members and to make the club more attractive to new members. The plan will include a club website, a club group on LinkedIn and a Facebook fan page among other internet savy activities. The Members of Morristown Tennessee's GFWC Somo Sala Circle produced another successful event for the community yesterday at the First Presbyterian Church feeding around 300 people and raising funds for area charities. Stephanie Larkin, GFWC Somo Sala Club President, said that the event was a success raising over $300 more than last year's luncheon. With 15 volunteers working to serve nearly 300 lunches, funds were raised that will be used to support area causes. Some area services were on hand exhibiting information during the luncheon including the Red Cross, CEASE, MATTS, Helen Ross McNabb Center, Central Services, Girls Inc., and the (0 comments)

Dennis talked about this new organization created one year ago right here in Morristown by a group of area Landlords who gather once a month at Century 21 to discuss the business they all share.
