Real estate in this part of the Denver metro area is a bit slower than others, but there is still activity - at 498 new listings this month (single family homes) and 211 homes under contract - you can see that there still is plenty of inventory. Pricing your Parker, Elizabeth, Franktown and Kiowa home properly is critical. In addition, you can see that the average sold price is much lower than the average asking price. As in other areas of the Denver metro real estate market, (1 comments)

denver real estate: Very Busy - But Still Time For Colorado Fun
- 04/11/08 10:27 AM
The last 2 weeks have been very busy business-wise for me - which is great for me and great for you. Why great for you? Because that means if I am busy it must not be all gloom and doom in the Denver real estate market like many seem to be thinking. Is it great? No. But there is activity and homes are selling. In any case, I haven't been able to post as many blogs lately - busy sometimes means not being at the keyboard as much.
I did take a much needed time out last weekend to (20 comments)

denver real estate: Forbes Ranks Denver 7th Best City for Home Sellers. Huh?
- 04/11/08 09:49 AM
Forbes seems to always have a list for this or that, and this month is no exception, and Denver is noted again. This time, Denver is the 7th Best City to sell a home, out of 40 cities that were included in the study.
Its interesting though, this story was released in the Denver Business Journal the same day it announced that Denver home sales are down. And just earlier in the week USA Today highlighted Denver foreclosures.
So yes, they are down - but the difference is how its compared against other areas of the country. (2 comments)

denver real estate: Denver Will Go Dark For 'Earth Hour'
- 03/28/08 06:09 AM
I have been busy this week, and a little out of the loop, but just this morning I was reading an article on-line about Earth Hour. Apparently tomorrow, Saturday March 29th at 8pm worldwide - many cities are encouraging local businesses and in some cases, residents, to go dark for one hour. Denver is no exception and Denver's Mayor has encouraged Denver's residents and business to take part. I like the idea. I am the type of person that often delves deep into thought, and I can say that there have been many a times that I have wondered, driving around at (9 comments)
Yesterday, Austin based Renewable Energy Systems Americas, Inc. (RES-Americas) announced that their corporate headquarters for their renewable energy company will be moving to Broomfield. I think it is absolutely fantastic that yet another "green" company will be based here in the Denver area. RES-Americas is a renewable wind energy company and already has offices in Elbert and Lincoln counties. 70 employees will relocate to Denver from Austin and 70 more will be hired here for the Denver corporate office. The new Village Shops at The Landmark area in Greenwood Village is shaping up very nicely It is an absolutely beautiful area with so much to offer the Greenwood village & entire south metro Denver area community. It is a stunning luxury mixed- use area including living, shopping, fine dining and entertainment. Located off of Quebec and just south of Belleview, an office I was in a few years back would have been walking distance for me to the Landmark area for quite a nice lunch now & then. As to my current location, it is still very convenient to (3 comments)

denver real estate: Living in Denver - High Line Canal Trail in Greenwood Village
- 03/22/08 03:10 AM
Throughout the Denver area, so many neighborhoods have an abundance of recreation opportunities. And having trails almost everywhere is no exception. They are especially plentiful in the South Denver Metro area, and one of my favorites is the High Line Canal Trail.
No matter the weather, you will almost always find people out on the trail - walking dogs, running or biking. The below photo on the right shows an exercise area for adding to your work-outs.
These particular photos were taken recently on a day that reminds me that spring is just about here and it will be (7 comments)

You know interests rates are great, some areas of Denver have some wonderful buying opportunities and you are ready to go. But where do you start? I would suggest an important early step is to select your Denver REALTOR® and your mortgage broker and get pre-approved for your loan.
Getting pre-approved is very important for many reasons, especially for a first time home buyer.
First, the more obvious - you will know where you stand. Even if your (4 comments)

denver real estate: Living in Denver - South Platte Park
- 03/18/08 03:21 AM
As the snow melts today from our latest run-in with winter - I can't help but wonder if the trails will be clear enough to take our first ride of the year on the trail at South Platte Park. So very convenient from so many areas of the South Denver Metro area, South Platte Park is what living in Colorado is all about -abundant open space, the South Platte River, bike trails, a nature center, 5 lakes (fun fishing!) and plenty more. It has become a family favorite for us - its is very convenient to get to from many parts of (2 comments)
Weatherstone still is one of the most asked about neighborhoods that I received questions on in Highlands Ranch. I am asked, What is the price range? What are the amenities? What i is going in behind it? Is the new school for this neighborhood? I complete understand the interest and desire in Weatherstone homes. Weatherstone has a great location, many of the yards in Weatherstone are larger than other Highlands Ranch neighborhoods, it has its own pool, a neighborhood park, a new elementary school -Stone Mountain Elementary and the homes in Weatherstone are gorgeous. It is not unusual to (0 comments)
