girls: Solanco Cross Country and Track Alumni Association Kickoff Event

The kickoff event will begin on Saturday August 18th at 6 PM with a two mile run, jog, or walk, on the Solanco Cross Country Course, 585 Solanco Road Quarryville, PA. Registration will begin at 4:30 PM. Attendees may bring lawn chairs to watch the current varsity teams scrimmage with Octorara and Oxford. The girls will scrimmage at 5 PM and the boys at 5:30 PM.

The Solanco Lacrosse Club is seeking boys in fifth through twelfth grades to play Lacrosse. No experience necessary. Practices will take place on Fridays in the gym at Swift Middle School,1866 Robert Fulton Highway Quarryville, PA. Practice will run from 3:15 until 5:00 PM. The spring season will officially begin in March and continue through the middle of May.

The Quarryville Teenage Club will host its 62nd pageant to select a new Miss Solanco on Saturday November 26th at 7 PM in the Solanco High School Auditorium at 585 Solanco Road Quarryville, PA.
The Miss Solanco pageant is the first level of the Miss America system. Although last year's winner Emilie Stocker, did not compete in other pageants, past titleholders have competed at the county and state level.
Contestants include: Tianna Hasinger, Jazzmyn Pope, Marissa Witmer, Tianna Beiler, Morgan Perry, Jacqueline Groff, Kayla Brown, Kelly Cook, Jenevieve Eberly, and Emily Duvall.

Solanco High School: Young players from first to eighth grades took to the field the week of June 20th to learn the basics of field hockey.
The annual camp had 35 players. Helping to coach the camp were 17 members of Solanco High School's field hockey team. The camp included team building activities, tactical skills, and actual hockey games.
