 Ginger Bread
 
 
 
2 Cups Brown Sugar
¾ Cup Crisco Shortening
2 Eggs, well beaten
1 Cup thick milk (sour)
2 Cups Flour
 
Beat well the first three ingredients then add milk and flour and beat well again.
 
Add after mixing together 1 tsp. Soda and 1 tbsp. boiling water
 
Add
 
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. Cloves
1 tsp. Ginger
 
Mix well and pour into 8 x 8 inch greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until clean tester.

 Broccoli & Cheese
 
 
2 (16 oz.) packages frozen broccoli florets
1/2 cup of butter separated into 2 (1/4 cup) portions
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt, if desired
2 1/4 cups milk
6 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup cup grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs or Pepperidge Farms herb
stuffing
 
Cook broccoli according to package instructions and drain.
Melt 1/4 cup butter over low heat in saucepan .
Stir in flour and blend.
Add milk and continue to heat until sauce thickens, stirring
constantly.
Add cream cheese and blend until smooth.
Add Cheddar cheese and blend.
Add onions.
Mix in large mixing bowl with broccoli.
 
Spray 9 x 13 inch dish with cooking spray.
