One day last summer while taking some clients out on Lake Norman we happened by this wonderful rock formation.  Obviously, I was not the first person to see the image of a creature as someone had carefully painted in the eye.  It looks to me like it is having a fresh green bush for lunch!
I thought it would be fun to choose this for my June Lake Norman calendar instead of highlighting one of the many sports or fun activities that are in full force by June.

Thanks to our consistent rainfall this past winter and early spring, Mecklenburg County has lifted its 19-month restrictions of water use and the rest of the Lake Norman area counties are expected to follow.  Yes, it is now legal to water your lawns and wash your cars according to today's article in the Charlotte Observer.  Although, conservation is always a good habit.  According to this article, single-family home water usage dropped 32% in Mecklenburg County since 2002.

Warning, for those of you who are REALLY SICK of snow and winter, you might not want to read this post.
Anyway, we have been pretty excited for several days as the expert weather forcasters have been telling us to expect a REAL snow storm to hit our Lake Norman NC area last night.  It had been pouring rain up until about 7pm so I had pretty much given up when I looked outside and saw snow.  The snowflakes were so big that I was able to capture them in the picture above.
