lake norman wind storm: Mother Nature Does it Again!

The wind went from zero to 60 in what seemed like a nano-second. Our rainy morning welcomed some clearing skies with gusts of winds that made it nearly impossible for me to get my car door open! They seemed harmless enough. I sat at my computer about 2pm and while typing away noticed the power flicker on and off several times. Then, everything went dark and stayed dark.
It's not unusual for us to loose power once in a while but I don't think it has ever lasted more than several hours. We have a generator sitting in our … (14 comments)
