activerain: Spring? Can someone explain the snow plow/salt truck? AR MeetUp - 03/25/14 10:31 AM
Activerain Spring MeetUp 2014 Spring? March 25, 2014? Spring? Can someone explain the snow plow/salt truck?

Snow was falling outside, it was an ugly day in Maryland, but inside inside Brio’s in Annapolis Town Center in was spring!  The smiles and hugs were warm as sunshine on a beautiful spring day! The Spring MeetUp went on as planned! Rainers came from around the corner and across town to enjoy the company of  this unique group.

I was enjoyed conversation and laughter so much, I didn’t take nearly enough pictures. It was a blast as … (8 comments)

activerain: Active Rain Winter Meetup was missing only one thing...... Winter! - 12/03/12 09:49 AM
Active Rain Winter Meetup was missing only one thing...... Winter!Active Rain Winter Meetup was missing only one thing...... Winter!  It was almost as warm outside as it was inside. Today, December 3, 2012 it was a blazing 67 degrees + Ellicott City, MD! It’s difficult to get in the spirit of the holidays with such a heat wave, however, we managed to do it! We also counted our blessings today for an opportunity to be together and enjoy lunch and not have to be concerned about the weather.
Many are predicting  a “Big Snow” for the 2012-2013 winter  here on the … (18 comments)

activerain: Let It Rain! AR Meet-up for a cause! Ovarian Cancer ~ Chesapeake Beach - 10/03/12 03:37 AM
Let It Rain! AR Meet-up for a cause! Ovarian Cancer ~ Chesapeake Beach, MD
Let It Rain! AR Meet-up for a cause! Ovarian Cancer ~ Chesapeake Beach, MD It was a beautiful morning for a drive! Claire & I left home in Manchester and headed for Chesapeake Beach, MD, about a 2 hour drive. I knew we would be walking the Railway Trail, having breakfast after the walk at a local restaurant, Traders, a favorite of our hostess, Cheryl Ritchie, and enjoying the company of friends while we walked for a great cause, Ovarian Cancer. What I didn’t know was … (6 comments)

activerain: Why are ActiveRain Meet-ups always a good time? - 08/28/12 03:04 PM
Why are ActiveRain Meet-ups always a good time? Why are ActiveRain Meet-ups always a good time? If you have attended just one AR meet-up I’d love to hear your answer. Mine, who better to listen and look up to than the people who are successful and so willing to share as those here on AR? Real estate is a tough business full of competitors who are both inside and outside our own offices. Some are good, some not so much and then there are those who are great. I believe they are great because of their willingness to share and embrace each … (47 comments)

activerain: My favorite way to be in the rain, ActiveRain, is daily. - 04/26/12 11:34 PM
My favorite way to be in the rain, ActiveRain, is daily. Singing in the rain as many call it. It seems I have fallen off the wagon and just need to get back on. Why is that so hard? Kind of like picking up the phone when you have lost touch with a dear friend. The benefits are huge & we know we are welcome, family even but the intimidation factor of time lost, picking up the phone or blogging creeps in and we just can’t let it win. Do you have a post or two to share, a phone call … (8 comments)

activerain: One ActiveRain "Weltanschauung"? - 01/11/12 12:11 PM
One ActiveRain “Weltanschauung”?Under this umbrella we call ActiveRain are real estate professionals, hard working and dedicated regardless of their brand or location. The value of having thousands of industry professionals contribute is invaluable. ActiveRain has 10 principles or “Weltanschauung” I believe the combination of all of them together, like  the combination of all the ActiveRain members together are what make  the community so dynamic. One of my favorites, and it was not easy to choose, is #6. “ActiveRain  prides itself on editorial independence.” Freedom of speech and not captive to any one point or view.  I appreciate this one especially because … (2 comments)

activerain: ActiveRain Transparency - 01/10/12 03:44 PM
ActiveRain TransparencyActiveRain Transparency allowing the transmission of knowledge regarding the real estate industry to flow freely between real estate professionals and the public. How frequently does any industry hold an open forum where it’s customers and clients can see what’s goes on behind the scenes? Not often. The ActiveRain community does just that for customers and clients across the United States and Canada. We, the professionals reveal the who, what, when, where and why’s that allow the public a  better understanding of our industry and how it works. I believe in being an educated consumer and I enjoy contributing to a … (11 comments)

activerain: Respect the ActiveRain Community - 01/09/12 03:55 PM
Respect the ActiveRain CommunityRespect the ActiveRain community and it’s guidelines. When I first became a REALTOR ® I was tremendously disappointed with the extreme lack of camaraderie  among agents. Having never worked in sales prior to real estate I thought it would be well, different. Being the new agent in the office felt more like swimming with sharks. The seasoned agents, some “Top Producers”, smile politely with their BIG ….WHITE ….T E E T H as they put another five in the office pool for which rookie quits first. I’ve since come to understand that making friends with every rookie that … (10 comments)

activerain: Motivational Monday ~ When the student is ready .... - 09/26/11 06:00 AM
Motivational Monday ~ When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Have you heard that quote? Or maybe something similar. When the time is right, a teacher will appear....the disciple is used in spiritual circles. This morning my teacher appeared in Donna Harris.  Reading ActiveRain with my morning coffee I read Donna’s post, ActiveRain - 1Million Point Club MilestoneAs I read her words, I smiled and felt proud and a bit of relief.  Why? Well, as a Realtor® in a difficult economy I find myself wondering.... am I in the right business? Am I doing it “right?”  I jumped into … (2 comments)

Buyers & Sellers Benefit with ActiveRain Lenders & Realtors teaming up for more exposure!
I met Bridget McGee, aka “Mortgage Mama,”during a Rain Camp event several months ago. It was good to meet & network with a Marylander and even more exciting …. a lender who understands the value and need of Internet exposure. This re-blog is an example of what Bridget does for her business associates and her clients as well as potential clients.
If you are a Maryland Realtor you need someone supportive, professional & hard working as Bridget McGee, give her a call, drop her an email and see … (1 comments)
