Are you a First Time Home Buyer?  Are you sometimes confused or overwhelmed by the home buying process?--who does what when?  Are you required to have a home inspection?  A pest inspection?  A survey?  An appraisal?  A septic inspection?  Who pays for all of this stuff?  Who pays the real estate commission?  How do I know what a fair offer would be for a house?  Will new construction developers consider a less than full price offer?  Take a deep breath and read the blog linked below for a step-by-step outline explaining how to go about buying a house, whether it be your first or your fifthteenth.

buyers agent: Welcome, Baby Madelyn! - 05/11/09 01:25 PM
Hey, Quilting Buddies!
Remember that baby quilt I was mentioning a few weeks ago--the one that I gave in pieces to the mother-to-be at her shower?  Believe it or not, I actually finished and delivered it before Baby Madelyn was born!  And get this...she arrived on Mother's Day!!
Welcome, and God Bless Madelyn and her proud parents.
This quilt was machine pieced and quilted.  The front is fashioned in the high contrast black and white that newborns respond to best.  The back is a fun jungle print to blend with the jungle motif of her nursery.

buyers agent: Buyer Beware of Short Sales - 04/14/09 05:30 AM

You've heard it over and over again...NOW is a great time to buy...just about anything!  Cars, furniture, and of course, real estate.  Many folks feel the best real estate deals today can be found in short sales and foreclosures.  Although this is true sometimes, one should not assume that all short sales, foreclosures and REOs are great bargains.  Here's why:
A short sale is created when the seller owes more money to the bank than he or she can recover from selling the property.  This can be the case for many reasons.  Perhaps the seller took out a home equity … (0 comments)

buyers agent: My Own Worst Enemy (Sometimes--like now) - 03/28/09 05:05 PM
Tell me...where did the time go?  A friend from my office is having a baby in May.  I've known this for almost 9 months.  Upon hearing the good news, of course I decided to make her a baby quilt.  I even knew what pattern I wanted to make.  Time went by.  I was invited to her shower 3-4 weeks ago.  Still planning to make the quilt--a black and white pinwheel pattern called "Tiddlywinks" in the "P.S. I Love You 2" book.  Well, the shower is exactly 1 week from today, and I started the quilt this evening.  One week!  Why do I put … (1 comments)

buyers agent: Hello, Sisters! (and perhaps a few brothers, too) - 09/22/08 01:40 PM

I am so delighted to have found this quilter's group!  I've been quilting much longer than I've been practicing real estate (16 years compared to 3.5).  For the past year, since joining the Debbie Reed Team, I have been unable to attend my quilt guild meetings because now I am responsible for holding regular office hours.  Without the monthly inspiration and support of my quilting sisters, I have become a quilting slacker.  I hope that by checking in with you regularly, I can both provide and receive the inspiration and support I've been missing, and maybe even exchange a few … (2 comments)

buyers agent: Why Use a Buyer's Agent? - 09/18/08 07:28 AM
A good buyer's agent...
is a real estate professional committed to finding the right property and negotiating the best terms for his or her client. knows the market and can simplify the search process by listening to the client's needs and suggesting properties that meet those needs. understands the real estate process and can guide the client through its many twists and turns. always has the buyer's best interest at heart and serves as the client's advocate. is paid a commission by the seller. So my question back is, considering buying a home is usually the largest single purchase of one's … (0 comments)
