haiku poems: Clouds

I love writing Haikus and there has been a lot of inspiration on Active Rain this week. I have read several posts about clouds. the pictures are incredible, and I thought I would share one of my own with a Haiku. If you are not familiar with a Haiku it is a form of poetry from Japan they are simple and usually about nature.When writing one they do not have to rhyme, and they probably should not. Just have the first line with 5 syllables- the second with 7- and the third with 5 again. This is a great way to get (3 comments)

My husband and I had the weekend to ourselves. We got a taste of life with them grown and on their own, the good the bad and the lonely. I wrote a little Haiku that sums it up for us. Little hands hold mine time runs laps around my head what is next to come

This time of year brings out a side of my husband I can't ignore. One of the only things I have found to help him during this time of crisis is- good beer, junk food, & more beer ( at a certain point the quality of the beer does not matter as much).It is important to leave him a lot of room to jump up suddenly from his chair, scream at people who can not hear him( although at times I think they actually can) and listen to him berate skilled athletes. I wrote a calming Haiku poem for this Sunday. I will let you (4 comments)

Yesterday was a busy day. It is hard to sum the morning up in words, so I though a Haiku would explain my plight... Last one out of bed Disturbing drops of liquid ice I hope for coffee

Another Haiku. Sparkle, Scare, Shiver Halloween is here tonight Moon full and bright A haiku is a poem originating in Japan. They are very simple and consist of three lines. The first line is 5 syllables the second is 7 and the third is again 5. They are usually about nature, but they can be about anything.
