realtors: SOLICITATIONS TO A AN IMPROVED & BETTER REALTOR THROUGH USING XYZ SYSTEM - 02/12/08 12:52 AM
Of late I have noticed an ever increasing number of solicitations from every self appointed Real Estate Guru offering "OPPORTUNITIES" to increase my success in this slow and precarious market.  Now it may be just me and perhaps I am a bit jaded after having spent nearly 15 years in Real Estate.  Along with having attended many sales seminars and workshops with such well know super stars as Zeigler, Ferry, Cooper and others over the past 25 years. Regardless of this exposure I have endeavored to keep an open mind about all the folks who want to help me through their … (4 comments)

realtors: So What Do You Do With Crappy Loand Officers?... That's Legal! - 06/18/07 01:54 AM
What Do You Do With Crappy Loan Officers?
My rhetorical question sounds like I am picking on bank loan officers exclusively, far from it.  My primary complaint is with a couple of modest sized "Finance Companies" who apparently hire folks who have difficulty chewing gum and walking at the same time.  One of the companies despite multiple phone calls, provision of a status sheet transmitted electronically via email and fax to reinforce telephone conversations still had to be verbally brow beaten in the eleventh hour to get a performance.  The issue dealt with a first time buyer who had no money … (6 comments)

realtors: Courtesy or the lack of among Realtors on decline due to cerebral trauma? - 02/02/07 02:22 AM
Courtesy between Professional Realtors as well as their clients/cusotmer or should I say the frequent lack of may be due to some Professional Realtor having sustained massive injuries to their heads.  These injuries  result in their either developing an over inflated image of self importance, a complete loss of common courtesy in communications or a lack of awareness of their environment and those around them. The cause of this growing Phenomenon is unknown and scientists are baffled.  But for the sake of clarity let me illustrate examples of what surely was bad behavior due to cranial trauma.
Example one involves conducting a … (0 comments)

realtors: Georgia's New 2007 Contract Changes.... - 01/22/07 12:20 AM
Annually, The Georgia Association of Realtors (GAR) revises it standard Purchase and Sale Agreement.  Typically the changes are minor but 2006 saw a major change.  It begin was the introduction of the "Free Look Period".  A clause which was designed for the buyer where as the remainder of the contract is intended to protect Realtors and Sellers.  For those who don't know what the free look is, it permits the buyer to look at, have inspections conducted.  It allows the Buyer the opportunity to walk away from the contract with due notice for any reason either found in inspections or because … (0 comments)

realtors: Inept Networking - 11/10/06 12:08 AM
Networking the forgotten art of becoming connected and staying connected to others with a common interest.  There are innumerable mechanisms for networking organizations ranging from the PTA, city counsel to sports clubs, lounges, the internet blog, etc.  Recently I became interested in the membership of a couple of organizations with which we as Realtors have direct contact.  And if worked correctly and frequently can expand our productivity.  I won't go into each organization but I will comment on two whose lack of participation by Realtors truly surprised me.  The first organization was the area Home Builders Association.  In a county with … (4 comments)
